EDGAR, Mrs. Christina A. - Age 72, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Willowbrook Manor. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 115 Welch Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Floyd Fuller officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Thursday. Mrs. Edgar will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday. Mother Christina Edgar was born August 19, 1944 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of Douglas and Georgia Isom. She graduated from Richmond High School, “Class of 1963.” Christina moved to Flint, Michigan in 1964. She was employed as a Caterer for McLaren-Flint for many years. Christina was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Mother’s Board and Usher Board. Christina was also a member of the Silver Circle Red Hatters. She was known for her vibrant personality. “Tina” never met a stranger and loved reaching out to others. Her favorite way of doing so was by mailing greeting cards for almost any occasion. “Tina” was adored by her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat with friends and spending time with her great-grandchildren. Mother Christina Edgar leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters, Elonda Baylock of Flint and Kimberly Cross of San Antonio, TX: 5 grandchildren, Darious (Shaquanda) Baylock of Grand Blanc, MI, Quenten Edgar of Holland, MI, Tianna McFadden of Madison, WI, Kendall Cross and Lela Cross, both of San Antonio, TX; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Edna (Robert) Payne of Columbus, OH; twin brother, Chris Isom of Richmond, IN; a host of nieces and nephews; special aunt, Katherine Johnson; 2 sisters-in-law, Marsetta Isom and Eleanor Isom; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Rosemary Jefferson, Ruth Thomas and countless others. Mother Edgar was preceded in death by her son, George Edgar Jr.; parents, Douglas and Georgia Isom; sisters, Emma Johnson and Joanna Burks; brothers, Edward Isom and Charles Isom. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Floyd Fuller and the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church family, and the Willowbrook Manor staff.
