WILSON, Mrs. Cheryl - Age 64, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral service commencing at 9:00 AM Friday, December 22, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., Apostle Clarence Lewis, Host Pastor, Pastor Jesse Wilson, Jr. officiating. Interment Gracelawn Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 9:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Wilson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed during family hour from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Cheryl Denise Wilson was born on April 13, 1959 in Flint, Michigan to Leroy and Elnora Smith. On August 18, 1988 Cheryl married the love of her life Jesse Wilson Jr. in Flint, Michigan. From the beginning they walked hand in hand by faith, as true partners trusting in God. Cheryl graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1977, where she was voted the senior classmate with the prettiest smile. She continued her education and obtained her Professional Licensing in Cosmetology. Along with her husband Jesse she owned and operated Jireh’s Hair Salon for over 18 years. She always welcomed her clients with her bright smile and loved making each one feel special. She shared her words of wisdom and everyone left the salon feeling informed along with a beautiful hair style. As the Co-Pastor and First Lady of Father, Son & Holy Spirit Ministries, Cheryl was a welcoming leader, a teacher, a counselor and a comforter to all. She never failed to make herself available to be of service to the congregation and faithfully served the Lord. Cheryl truly LOVED her family & friends. She had a very special bond with her daughter Deionya. They grew to become more like sisters than mother & daughter. Just being together made Cheryl happy. Regardless of what obstacles thrown her way, she always had a smile on her face, loved to laugh and always ready to have fun and enjoy life. Every family gathering (and there were many) she insisted one of her brothers bring watermelon because she loved a ripe, sweet watermelon! Some of her favorite times were being with her siblings going to their special place (wink, wink) to have a little fun! Cheryl was truly the glue keeping the entire family connected. She had many favorite phrases & words of wisdom to offer, however today she would tell us to “Keep It Moving”! Mrs. Cheryl Denise Wilson leaves to cherish her memories and to honor her legacy: lovingly devoted husband Jesse Wilson, Jr; daughters, Deionya Denise Gray and Nysha Kanise Walker; step-son Nicholas Hamlett; bonus son, Andre Floyd; grandchildren, Deiondre Smith, Darreion Gray, Kaleb and Jaiden Thompson and Nykayla Walker; God-daughters, Adrienne Wynn, Brittany Brown and Kilnesha Jamison-Ewell; sister, Linda Smith; brothers, Floyd Robinson (Mildred), Leroy Smith (Betty), James Smith, Larry Smith, and Melvin Smith (Tammy); a host of special nieces including Sonia Jones, Shawnice Lockett and Mykela Rankins (who all spoke to Cheryl on the phone daily); a host of special nephews; many special cousins; sisters-in-law, Delynn Smith, Eddie Bell, Terrell Crayton (James), Christane Cane (Michael), Cherice Gould, Tammy Jones, Betty Shark and Joyce Bah; brothers-in-law, Charles Jones, George Winfield, Ulysses Wilson (Cindy), Calvin Wilson (Yvonne), David Wilson (Joni), Claude Jones (Charlene), Earnest Owens and Grandville Ray; many other special relatives and friends including special friends Elizabeth ‘Boo’ Wynn, Essence White and Tammy McIntosh-Smith. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Elnora ‘Mother’ Smith; sisters, Joyce Lane, Ruby Jones and Gladys Winfield; brother, Alvin Smith; father-in-law, Jessie Wilson Sr.; mother-in-law, Christine Wilson; brothers-in-law, Tom, Melvin, Sam Owens, Danny, Douglas and James Wilson.The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Mohamad Alasbahi, Dr. Gregory Forstall, the McLaren Medical Center 11th floor staff especially Nurse Linda, the entire Father, Son & Holy Spirit Ministries family, Apostle Clarence Lewis, Lawrence E.
