Mrs. Charlotte Lee Langston Greenard

GREENARD, Mrs. Charlotte Lee - Age 71, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Thursday, January 10, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Phillip Washington, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:30 AM Thursday. Mrs. Greenard will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM, with family present to receive friends from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM Wednesday. Mrs. Charlotte Lee Langston Greenard was born January 26, 1947 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Betty Langston. She left her earthly home on January 1, 2019. Charlotte graduated from Central High School, “Class of 1965.” She was employed at and retired from the City of Flint after 28 years of service. Charlotte joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church as a young child and sang in the Choir and served on the Usher Board. She later joined Dozier Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME) where she was very active and served in many capacities, on the Usher Board, Vacation Bible School, and worked in the Kitchen ministry. Charlotte loved crafts, sewing, helping others and giving of herself. Mrs. Charlotte Lee Greenard leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Calvin Greenard; daughter, Bridgett Overton of Phoenix, AZ son, Muhammad (Alyaa) Abdur-Rahman, AKA Ronald Barnett Jr. of Flint; 4 step-daughters, Delicia (Gregg) Mobley, Carolyn Greenard, both of Texas, LaGalia Renee (James) Bester and Flora Jane Wesson, both of Flint; grandchildren, Kenneth Overton of TX, Vance and Paula Newton of AZ, Youssiff and Kareem Abdur-Rahman, Kyria Chapman, Omari Hairston all of Flint; 2 great grandchildren, Ananora Lee Newton and Kenneth Overton Jr. both of Texas; great-grand dog-Sophie; father, Charles Langston of Palo Alto, CA; 2 sisters, Bobbie Ann Wells of Flint and Judy Langston of California; 2 brothers, Stanley Langston of Flint and Norman Telfor of California; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives, including 3 god-children, Victoria Fair of Flint, LaTressa Hagans of North Carolina and Aaron Lawler of South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Ida King, Hilda (John) Harris both of Louisiana, Emma Osborne of Chicago; Geraldine Langston and Evelyn Barton, both of Flint; brother-in-law, Clyde Greenard of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, M. Jean Montgomery, Almeta Milow, Betty Robinson, Alma Lawler, Trudy Ireland, Maxine Lever, Sarah Spencer, and Ronald Rutland. Mrs. Charlotte Greenard was preceded in death by her mothers, Betty Jean Langston and Mary Ann Williams; brothers, Charles Langston, Clifford Williams and Joseph Langston; sisters, Betty March-Bryant and Janice Telfor; 2 aunts, 6 uncles, 2 grandmothers and 2 grandfathers.
