BEAMON, Mr. Charley R. - Age 50 passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Tuesday, September 9, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor James Beamon officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Road in Holly, Michigan. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Tuesday. Mr. Beamon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 1-8PM Monday. Mr. Charley Ray Beamon was born September 18, 1957 in Cleveland, Mississippi, the son of Rev. & Mrs. Eldridge Earl and Josephine Beamon, Sr. Charley received Christ at an early age, he was baptized at New Saint Phillip Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS., the late Rev. J.D. Story was pastor. Charley was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy. He attended Detroit College of Business for 2 years, and worked as a Welder for over 10 years. His hobbies were cooking, going to the movies, playing chess, helping others, working around the church and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Charley Ray Beamon leaves to cherish his memory: 3 sisters, Ms. Ethel Carlize of Cleveland, MS, Mr. & Mrs. Barbara (David) Fizer of Memphis, TN and twin sister, Ms. Kaye Perry of Mt. Morris, MI; 5 brothers, Mr. & Mrs. Eldridge and Lynda Beamon, Jr., of Dallas, TX, Billy Beamon of Los Angeles, CA, Pastor & Mrs. James Paul and Edna Beamon of Flint, Joe Aric Beamon of Memphis, TN and Mickey Beamon of Cleveland, MS; a host of nieces and nephews; 3 aunts, Johnnie Lee Beamon of Cleveland, MS, Teresa Redmond, Willie Eva Johnson both of Los Angeles, CA; sister-in-law, Mamie Beamon of Flint; special friend, Eva Jean Barrow of Minneapolis, MN and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Beamon was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. & Mrs. Eldridge Earl and Josephine Beamon, Sr.; sisters, Doris Faye Beamon-Banks and Doris Rose Beamon and brother, Larry Mose Beamon. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Danyiel Griffin and the El-Bethel Evangelistic Baptist Church family, Steve, Dan, Bill and Tom of Alternate Decision Makers, and the entire Morning Glory Missionary Baptist Church family.
