WRIGHT, Mr. Charles E. - Age 79, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11AM, Pastor Marvin A. Jennings, Sr., officiating. Interment Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, G-2020 E. Hill Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Wednesday. Mr. Wright will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Mr. Charles E. Wright was born January 7, 1929 in Enfield, North Carolina, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Lee Geneva (Evans) Wright. He accepted Christ at an early age at White Oak Baptist Church in Enfield, North Carolina. Mr. Wright was a faithful member of Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he served on the Custodial Ministry, Grounds Keeper, Door Keeper, Maintenance Man and all around Repairman, faithfully until his health began to fail him. Mr. Wright retired after 34 years of service from Buick Motor, a division of General Motors Corp. and was a member of UAW Local #599. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering with lawn mowers. Mr. Charles Wright leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 53 years, Helen D. Wright; son, Mr. 7 Mrs. Danny T. (Oundrea) Wright; daughter, Katrenia Wright of Las Vegas, NV; 7 grandchildren (6 in Nevada) and (1 in Baltimore, MD); 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Hazel Mathis of Flint, MI, Mr. & Mrs. Elma 9Turner) Gray of Enfield, NC and Mr. & Mrs. Mamie (Alfred) Wallace of Flint, MI; 2 brothers, Mr. & Mrs. Joe N. (Vernice) Wright and Mr. & Mrs. Bernard (Lillie) Wright all of Flint, MI; 6 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice (Ben) Evans of Enfield, NC, Mrs. Ada Jones of Flint, MI, Mrs. Laverne Cates of Lexington, SC, Mrs. Vira Lynch of Nashville, NC, Mrs. Irene Wright and Mrs. Margaret Wright and Bettie Wright all of Flint, MI; 2 brothers-in-law, Mr. Donnell (Linda) Carter of Rocky Mount, NC and Mr. William (Gwendolyn) Powell of Baltimore, MD; a host nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends including the Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church Family. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by: his son, Kelvin Wright; grandson, Dairen Wright; parents, Lee and Geneva Wright; step-father, Rev. Ezra Webster; 3 sisters, Mary Ethel, Vera and Lauren; 4 brothers, John, Leo, William and Moses Wright; sister-in-law, Gladys Wright.
