WILLIAMS, Mr. Charles Edward - Age 58, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11AM Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Detroit Street Church of God, G-5328 Detroit St., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Supt. Lamarr Griggs officiating, Bishop Herbert Dudley Host Pastor. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Tuesday. Mr. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Monday. Mr. Charles E. “Chat” Williams was born October 22, 1949 in Altheimer, Arkansas, the son of Henrietta Johnson and Hardy Thrower. Charles E. Williams came to Flint in 1968, he worked for Fisher Body. He returned back to Arkansas, where he married Marilyn Logan December 12, 1975. Charles attended Altheimer Public Schools. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, always telling old stories and jokes. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Marilyn Williams of Little Rock, AR; 2 daughters, Gladys and Jennifer Williams of Arkansas; 5 sons, Anthony Crater (Tasha Conway) of Flint, Charles (Shawn) Williams, Jr., Curtis Williams, Clifton (Candance) Williams and Calvin Williams, all of Little Rock, AR; 24 grandchildren; mother, Henrietta Johnson; sister, Carolyn Johnson, both of Flint; 5 brothers, Darcell (Evon) Price, Jr. of Grand Blanc, Waymon (Ola) Johnson of Flint, Clifford (Faith) Johnson of Flint Twp, Randle and Ronnie Williams of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews; aunt, Ola Mae Reams of Kenosha, WI; uncle, Eddie (Wanda) Williams of Flint; mother-in-law, Ruby Lee Lesure of St. Louis MO; 3 sisters-in-law; 4 brothers-in-law; special cousins, Larry (Josephine), special friends, Roddie, Ann, George Spicer and Katie. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father, Hardy Thrower; granddaughter, Jakiria Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ann (Tommie) Vaughn; grandparents; 3 uncles, Charlie, William “Bill” and Sam Williams; and 2 brothers-in-law.
