Mr. Charles Jeffery Polk Sr.

POLK, Mr. Charles Jefferey - Age 67, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Mission Point Nursing Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, August 24, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Patrick McNeal, Presiding. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Polk will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed only during the family hour. Mr. Charles Jeffery Polk Sr. was born September 23, 1956 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Willie B. Polk Sr. and Pinkie Bell Rankin. Charles attended Flint Northwestern High School. In his youth and early adulthood, he was an avid and talented art painter. He retired from General Motors Corporation after 34 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #599 with a few odd jobs in between. Charles was a devoted Deacon at Living Grace Community Fellowship Church where he was involved in a multitude of church ministries and community youth programs. He loved supporting his family, spoiling his wife and grandchildren, watching westerns. Charles also loved making everybody laugh and smile with his catch phrases, sense of humor and singing. He will always be remembered as a faithful servant of God, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, cousin, uncle and friend.Mr. Charles Jeffery Polk Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 44 years and 11 months, Norma J. Polk of Burton, MI; 2 daughters, Tinesha (Donzell) Broadnax Jr. and Alicia Polk; 2 sons, Charles Jeremy (Jessica) Polk Jr. and Jason Polk; grandchildren, Asia Polk of Dolton, IL, Norlynn Broadnax of Waldorf, MD, Jayla Polk, Camille Polk, Christian Polk, all of Dolton, IL, Cortez Broadnax of Waldorf, MD and Alivia Polk of Flint; bonus grandchildren, Diamond Broadnax, Destiny West, Braylon Broadnax, McKenyze Welch and JaCiona Carr, all of Flint; bonus great-granddaughter, Logan Matiere-Bey; 3 sisters, Patricia Polk, Oneda Polk and Jean Polk-Jones; 2 brothers, Willie B.
