HUTCHINSON, Mr. Charles Edward - Age 79, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Willowbrook Manor. Family hour 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Allen C. Overton, Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mr. Hutchinson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday. Mr. Charles Edward Hutchinson was born September 11, 1945, in Proctor, AR. He was the fifth of eighteen children born to Ed Sr. and Luvenia Hutchinson. Charles was a graduate of Wonder High School in West Memphis, AR. He was a resident of Flint, Michigan for many years. Charles retired in 2006 from Buick Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation where he was a member of UAW local #599. He enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and sitting in the yard. Charles loved playing the lottery, Dominos and cards while taking his occasional trip down to Casino. He also loved traveling back home to Proctor, AR, being around the family as they would laugh while he cracked jokes. Charles loved his family, children, grandchildren and friends dearly. Mr. Charles E. Hutchinson leaves to cherish his memory: life partner of 46 years, Larry Mills; daughters, Aniska (Kevin) Brown of Georgia and Myrtis (Vonda) Hutchinson; 4 grandsons, De’Andre Upchurch Sr., Sean Hutchinson, all of Flint, Kevin and Kaymen Brown, both of Georgia; 3 great-grandchildren, De’Andre Upchurch, Jr., Ambryonna Hutchinson and A’Liyah Upchurch, all of Flint; sisters, Stella Hicks of Gary, IN, Patricia (Larry) Cochrane, Brenda (Donnie) Hill, Debra (Riley) Leflore, Jacqueline and Rose Hutchinson, all of West, Memphis, AR; brothers, Larry (Angie) Hutchinson of Woodland, TX, Maurice (Cheryl) Hutchinson of Flint, David (Pearline) Hutchinson, Bernard Hutchinson of Proctor, AR, Everett Hutchinson of West Memphis, AR; favorite uncle, Alfonzo Dantzler of Flint; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends including special friends, Michle Klesay and Amber Klesay. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Sr. and Luvenia Hutchinson; grandparents, Frank and Mary Dantzler; great-grandparents, Lawson Owens and Mary Harris Owens; brothers, Leroy, Robert, Riley, Bruce, Ricky and Ed Jr; special friend & mother of his children, Sammie Taylor.
