DUDLEY, Mr. Charles Davis - Age 77, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, November 26, 2016 from the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with memorial service commencing at 2:00 PM Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart, officiating. Family and friends will assemble in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home at 1:30 PM on Saturday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Charles Davis Dudley was born on January 14, 1939 to Eugene and Louise (Smith) Dudley in Johnson City, Tennessee. He passed away on November 15, 2016 at Hurley Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Charles was employed by the Flint Board of Education for many years until his retirement. Most of his employment was spent at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School with Mrs. Ruth Buckner as Principal. He enjoyed life to the fullest with his immediate family and extended family which included many. Charles loved to debate with anyone he met as he never met a stranger! Mr. Charles Davis Dudley leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife of 53 years: Martha (Green) Dudley; children, Gregory (Sandra Kay) Dokes, Charles Eugene Dudley, Michele (Jesse) Davis, Daniel Antonio Dudley, and Miranda (Richard) Byrd; god-son, Lonnie (Lavetta) Mayfield; 2 brothers, Henry (Margaret) Dudley of Flint, Robert (Bobby) Dudley of Virginia; sister, Delores (Thomas) Page of South Carolina; sister-in-law, Adele Dokes; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including special cousins, Carrie (Julius) Dantzler, Birdie (Joseph) Brooks; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, John Croft, Horace Jackson, Lawrence Cooley and his special sons and daughters, and co-workers from Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School. Mr. Dudley was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Louise Dudley; grandparents; brother, Mr. Eugene Dudley; mother-in-law, Mrs. Willie Mae Dokes; father- in-law, Mr. Clint Dokes; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
