BROWN, Mr. Charles Ervin "Lil Charles" - Age 29, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at Holy Ghost Church Ministries., 801 Addison St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m., Dr. Robert Burrell, Sr. and Pastor George Wilkinson officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Friday. Mr. Brown will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Charles Ervin Brown was born on May 29, 1980 in Flint, MI, to Pamela D. Brown and Charles R. Williams. Charles accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Holy Ghost Church of God in Christ under the late Elder Herman H. Strong Sr. He was an avid lover of nature since birth. Charles could often be found wherever there was an animal or insect. He had a vast educational background, attending school in Oak Grove, LA, Edmond, OK, before graduating from Flint Northern High School in 1999. Upon graduating, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corp and received an Honorable Discharge. Charles enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his family and telling jokes. His favorite saying was “You my cousin, though!” He had the ability to make everyone smile and was the life of the party. Mr. Charles Ervin Brown leaves to cherish his memory: devoted mother, Pamela D. Brown; father, Charles R. Williams; Lady (his precious dog); step-brother, Cymiahn Williams; 8 aunts, Velma Williams, Jane (John) Allen, Teresa (Elder Robert) Allen, Grace Anderson, Leali (John) Alexander, all of Flint, Elizabeth Gordon of Oak Grove, LA, Minnie Randall of Houston, TX and Sara Brown of Gardenia, CA; 8 uncles, Andrew, Kenneth, Eugene, Thomas (Mona), Bruce (Sheila) Brown, all of Flint, Otto Jr. , Morty, Lenard (Ruthie) Williams, all of Oak Grove, LA; 6 great uncles, including special great-uncle, Milton Thomas of Flint ; 2 great aunts, including special great aunt, Mary Robinson; extended brothers, Eugene, Joshua and David Brown; best friend, Chris Miller; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Ruthel Brown, paternal grandparents, Otto and Sarah Williams; great grandmother, Mamie C. Patterson; 2 aunts, Ruth Ann McGee and Mary McMillion; 2 uncles, John W. Thomas and Joseph McMillion; and 2 cousins, Sheree Gordon and Christopher J. Allen. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Robert Burrell, Sr., and Holy Ghost Ministries Church family, Pastor Marvin A.
