Mr. Charles "Bubbie" Brown

BROWN, Mr. Charles - Age 76, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 PM Thursday, April 30, 2020 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 PM Thursday. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, 4413 Flushing Road, Flint, MI. Mr. Brown will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 - 6:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Charles Eugene “Bubbie” Brown Sr. was born December 10, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Douglas and Jean Brown. He was a resident of Flint, Michigan and attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Old Northern High School. Charles a.k.a. “Bubbie” was employed at Fisher Body, a division of General Motors Corporation and later employed with the Flint Board of Education. He enjoyed his old school cars, landscaping and laughing at family gatherings. Mr. Charles Eugene “Bubbie” Brown Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: 8 children, Charles (Sabrina) Brown Jr., Wanda, Tony and Mena Brown, Charles, Douglas (Michelle) and Kelly Toins, all of Flint, and Cierra (Jermaine) Chandler of Texas; 35 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 6 siblings, Douglas Jr., Karen Brown, Donna, Reita (Lenell) Vance, Michael (Marcella) Brown and Juan Brown, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including special cousin, Larkus Burns of Ohio; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Mary Gamble and special caregiver, Kanina Joseph, both of Flint. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie Brown; father, Douglas Brown Sr.; mother, Jean Brown; sister, Sandra Brown-Gamble; brothers, Jeffrey and Maurice Brown; 2 great-grandchildren; 4 nieces; 1 nephew; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center and McLaren Select Specialty Services.
