MCLILLY, Mr. Cavanta Danyell Jr. - Age 24, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Detroit, MI. Family hour 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Promise Tabernacle Church, 815 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Frederick L. Flowers, Sr. Pastor, Min. Joseph Jones officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. McLilly will lie in state inthe Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Cavanta D. “Booder” McLilly, Jr. was born August 21, 1991 in Flint, Michigan the son of Dawn Bryant-McNeal and Cavanta D. McLilly, Sr. “Booder” attended Flint Community School System, after a brief absence, he successfully obtained his GED. As a young child Cavanta enjoyed skating and playing football. He was a fun an adventurous big brother. “Booder” loved to cook, go fishing, listen to music and sing. His greatest past time was spending time with his family, especially his grandparents. Cavanta was a special young man, whom touched all of our lives in many ways. He was not perfect, yet he had a loving heart. “Booder” could always make you smile and within the next five minutes make you mad, then smile all over again. In 2002, Cavanta gave his life to Christ, then converting to Muslim in 2010. He was a complex man at times, yet an extremely loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle cousin and friend. (Kimberly) McLilly, Sr.; grandparents, Catherine McLilly and Donald Bryant; sisters, Paula, Dorothy, and Freida McNeal all of Detroit, MI; brothers, Bryant and De’Angelo Walters, Joseph Morrison all of Detroit, MI, and Tarvanion McLilly; special brothers, Makyce Davis and D’Arryonta Patterson, all of Flint; nephews, Dallas Lewis-Walters of Detroit, MI and Avante Wilson of Flint; aunts, Catherine McLilly, Barbara Powell of Grand Rapids, MI, Gwendolyn Fleming, Sierra Deerfield of Detroit, MI and Dena Cole of West Virginia; uncles, Bruce, Louis Jr. and Lawrence McLilly, Glenn Owens, all of Flint, Donald Owens, Michael Jameson, Daniel and David Deerfield, all of Detroit, MI and Andrell Turner of Chicago, IL; cousins, Sharde’ Teer, Davion and Donald Owens, Lonneisha Crawford, April, Dominique, Aaronnete, Deondrick, Angel and Quanita McLilly, Antoria, Dominique, and Alicea Fleming, Alicia Gonzalez, Tanya Powell-May, Jessie Jones, Ralph and Aundrea Powell; a host of other relatives and friends including special grand-dad, Harlee Turner; best friend, “Man Man ASAP”; special uncle “Man”; and special friend, Satoya Stephens. Mr. McLilly was preceded in death by his special mother, Tara Breed; grandparents, Louis McLilly Sr. and Mamie Bryant; great-grandparents, Fredrick and Margie Franklin, Willie B. and Dan Ford, Lawrence and Rosie McLilly, and Helen Swoope.
