ROBINSON, Mrs. Carolyn Tynell - Age 62, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, September 3, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Calvin Randolph, officiating. Intermet Sunset Hills Cemetery, G4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:30 AM Saturday. Mrs. Robinson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Quietly, on the morning of August 24, 2022, Carolyn Tynell Randolph Robinson, slipped away from the woes of this mean world, into the arms of our Heavenly Father. Tynell was born July 1, 1960, in Sheffield, Alabama, the daughter of Cornelia Randolph and George Smith Sr. She moved to Flint, Michigan after the untimely death of her mother. Tynell and her siblings were reared by their grandparents. Tynell was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Cornelia and Albert Jackson; father, George Smith Sr.; grandparents, Lewis Sr. and Minerva Randolph; brothers, Arthur and George Randolph; god-brothers, Charles and Leroy Tyler; and 5 uncles. Tynell confessed Jesus as her Savior at an early age and was a current member of Foss Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Reginald G. Flynn. She was also a member of the Foss Ave. Block Club Security Team and was the Ruth Ave. Block Captain. Tynell was the life of the party and loved to laugh. She wanted everyone to have a good time. Tynell was the cool aunt/cousin to the children in the family. She loved to watch her Cowboys and Indians. Carolyn Tynell Randolph Robinson leaves to cherish her memory: 3 loving children, Daricus (Michelle) Randolph of Columbus, OH, Donnie Randolph of Missouri and Erica (Jaron) Randolph of Flint; 5 grandchildren, Daejon, Daejas and Daeqon Randolph, all of Columbus, OH, Elliott and Kathleen Randolph, both of Canton, MI; 7 sisters, Genise Reese, Tenia Jackson, both of Grand Rapids, MI, Cecelia (James) Hussey of Mundy Twp., MI, Cynthia Webster of Madison, AL, Nena Jackson of Muscle Shoals, AL, Lanita Whiteside and Jonna Fay Harris; 2 brothers, George Smith Jr., all of Alabama and Rev. Omega (Diane) Smith of Shreveport, LA; special aunts, Betty Walker of Burton, MI and Edna B. Mastin of Flint; 5 aunts, Ollie Hudson, Catherine Thomas, Geneva (Abbakeisa) Eberchuku, all of Flint, Patsy Coffey of Leighton, AL and Linda Hamilton of Muscle Shoals, AL; uncle, Rev. Lewis Randolph Jr. of Burton, MI; a host of cousins including special cousins, Judy (Thomas) Thompson of Nashville, TN, Nannette Randolph of Burton, MI and Fay McAdory; 2 god-sisters, Carolyn Tyler, both of Flint and Maggie (James) Collins of Chesapeake, VA; 3 god-children, Michael (Lydia), Steven (Lashay) and Jennifer, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Preston Howell and Angie Hickmon, both of Flint.
