JOHNSON, Ms. Carolyn Ann - Age 67, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021 at McLaren-Flint. Ms. Johnson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Graveside Service 10:00 AM Friday, April 2, 2021 Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Ms. Carolyn Ann Johnson was born March 9, 1954 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. John L. Henry and Mrs. Eula Mae (Johnson) Henry. Carolyn was a resident of Flint her entire life. Living in several assisted living homes, the 1st being Webster Rd., later moving to Andrew & Johnson. They were her family for over 18 years. Her current was the Joal Assisted Group Home. For 6 years she attended Westwood Heights Freedom Works Program. Carolyn enjoyed watching DVD’s, Television, puzzles, going on shopping sprees and going out to eat. She also enjoyed going for rides, visiting with family on holiday and birthday celebrations. Carolyn would say, “you gonna get me some pop?” If she didn’t like you she let you know right away, “strike at that person and fold her arms.” Ms. Carolyn Ann Johnson leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sisters, Brenda Johnson, Jacqueline “Jackie” Johnson and sister/niece, Marion “Tiny” Lott; brother, Robert Lee Shipp; 7 nieces, Tina Greason, Jacrisha, Lashonda and Laquonda Johnson, Danielle Williams, Jacqula Williams and Miracle Baty; nephew, Dana “DJ” Williams Jr.; aunt, Mrs. Hattie B. Bell; uncle, Mr. Thurman Miles, both of Memphis, TN; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, all of her care providers, managers, teachers and those she shared the residence with, her case managers, nurses and therapists; they were her special friends. Ms. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. John L. Henry and Mrs. Eula Mae (Johnson) Henry; sister, Felicia Henry; brothers, Freddie Shipp and Edwin Neal Shipp; nephew, Dequan Johnson; 5 uncles, Willie Hawkins, Jimmy McKinney, Charlie “Bull” Miles, Jessie Miles and Eddie James “Redd” Miles. The family would like to express special thanks to Andrew & Johnson Assisted Living, Joal Assisted Group Home and all staff, The Cross Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Oscar Hare, our Presiding Assistant Minister, Rev. Gregory Hare, McLaren & Special Select Care for the staff and doctors, Mr. Lawrence E. Moon and the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home.
