TOWNSEND, Ms. Carol Ann - Age 55, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at her residence. Family hour 10AM Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Greater Bethlehem Ministries, 2320 Caniff Drive., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Eld. Johnny Brown, III officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and family will assemble at the church 10AM Wednesday. Ms. Townsend will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Tuesday. Ann was born March 15, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert and Maudine Johnson. She was a resident of Flint, Michigan since 1954, graduating from Flint Central High School. She retired with 34 years from Reigle Printing Company in Davison, MI. Ann was a member of Greater Bethlehem Ministries C.O.G.I.C. (GBM) where she served on the hospitality auxiliary. Everyone knew her as a very outgoing and fun person to be around who kept you laughing. She enjoyed boating, fishing and playing with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carol Ann Johnson-Townsend leaves to cherish her memory: devoted husband, Albert Freeman Townsend of Flint; 5 children, LaShunda Tyann (John) Edmonds, Felicia (Timothy) Carter, Toni (Eddie) Taylor, Neisa Townsend and Albert (Julie) Townsend, Jr. all of Flint; loving father, Robert A. Johnson of Flint; 13 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Violet Smith, Helen (Charles) Powe, Cecelia (Kevin) Mize and Latonia Johnson all of Flint; 6 brothers, Robert (Ricky) Johnson, James, Charles, Larry, Kenneth (Sandra) Johnson and Dewayne Lance all of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews; 2 aunts, Fannie Mae (Harold) Montgomery of Fortworth, TX and Ora Seawright of Dallas, TX; uncle, Ted (Mamie) Johnson of Grand Blanc; cousins, Elder James (Carolyn) Sanders and Geraldine (Dr. Nathaniel) Lewis, Sr. all of Flint; sister-in-law, Lue Jean Taylor of Flint; 2 brothers-in-law, Johnnie Townsend of Flint and WJ (Kathy) Townsend of Forest, MS; and many other relatives and friends including special friend, Forrest Marshall Henley of Flint and family. Mrs. Carol Ann Johnson-Townsend was preceded in death by her mother, Maudine Johnson and brothers, Richard and Scotty Johnson. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center (9th floor Oncology), Dr. Danish and Dr. Saeed, Avalon Hospice, GBM church family and VBM church family.
