COBBIN-JACKSON, Mrs. Carmen - Age 43, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m., Rev. Don Russell officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Jackson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Carmen Nichelle (Cobbin) Jackson was born February 22, 1967 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Sandra Wilson and James Cobbin. Carmen was a lifelong resident of Flint. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1985.” Carmen was baptized at an early age at Christ Fellowship Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Satoia Brown; son Erin Jackson; stepson, Monte Jackson; grandchildren, Blake Taylor and Nizae Bishop, all of Flint; fathers, James Cobbin, of Flint and Herbert Wilson, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; grandmother, Helen Alford of Flint; 3 sisters, Antoinette Garrett of Austin, TX, Salina and Sharone Cobbin, both of Los Angeles, CA; 3 brothers, Herbert “Jerrell” Wilson, Edric Keel, both of Flint and Jamal Cobbin of Los Angeles, CA; 3 nieces, Natiiya Cobbin, TiAira Wilson and Arriyonna Strong; 3 nephews, Antonio Campbell, JaCarri Wilson and Eric Lundy; 5 aunts, Earlene Connerly, Carolyn (Coleman) Brown, Doris Cobbin, Linda (John) Conley and Gloria Hudsonm, all of Flint; 7 uncles, Rev. Donald (Melvia) Russell, Gerald (Ollie) Russell, Gregory (Debra) Alford, Floyd (Willie) Cobbin, Willie (Renee) Cobbin, Michael (Pattie) Cobbin and Larry Alford; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Robert Brown, Jacqueline Brown and family, Darica Evans and Iva. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her son, Jaron Jackson; mother, Sandra Wilson; sister, Janien Cobbins; grandfathers, Ozra Cobbin and Earl Alford, Sr.; grandmother, Wyomia Cobbin; aunt, Brenda Craig; uncles, Robert Alford, Earl Alford, Jr., Benjamin Alford and Zeotis Cobbin; and cousins, Floyd Cobbin and Shonda Cobbin.
