EARNEST, Mr. Carlton "Carlos" "The Count" - Age 53, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Genesys Hospice Care. Family hour 1:30PM Friday, January 6, 2006 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2PM. Rev. Wendell Thompson, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Friday. Mr. Earnest will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mr. Carlton "Carlos" Earnest was born August 24, 1952 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the son of Jessie Ree and Katherine Talley-Earnest. "Carlos" graduated from Northern High School. He retired in 2001 from Buick City, a division of General Motors Corporation, and was a member of UAW Local 599. Mr. Earnest enjoyed fishing, good food and talking with his friends. He was always saying funny things to make you laugh. Carlton accepted Christ as his personal savior under the witness of Rev, Wendell Thompson and Min. Wallace Dawson in May of 2004. Mr. Carlton Earnest leaves to cherish sweet memories: a loving and devoted wife, Cassandra Williams-Earnest; 2 stepsons, Deltorro Branch and Jamar Wade; step-grandchildren, Jamar and Keymon; special "granddaughter", Tequilla; father, Jessie Ree Earnest; mother-in-law, Mrs. Precious Williams; 7 brothers, Min. Jessie R. II (Tammie), Jerome, Elton (Darlene), Larry and Dwight Earnest, all of Flint, Clide (Julie) of Philadelphia, MS, and Johnnie W. Earnest of Columbia, OH; 3 sisters, Betty (L.S.) Reed, Bobbie (James) Alexander, Brenda (Charles) Jones, all of Flint; sisters-in-law, Shawana Williams and Walethia Coleman, both of Flint, Gwendolyn Cook of Burlington, TN; brothers-in-law, Rory and Percival Williams, both of Flint, an Gerald Williams of Charlotte, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, cousins and friends including special friends, Sammie K. Galloway and James Alexander. Mr. Carlton Earnest was preceded in death by his mother, Min. Katherine Earnest (Nov. 2001); father-in-law, Mr. James Williams (Sept. 2005).
