Mrs. C. Jean Thomas

THOMAS, Mrs. C. Jean - age 60, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Thomas will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 p.m. -6 p.m. Friday with family present from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Mrs. C. Jean Sprinkle-Thomas was born September 21, 1953 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Clifton and Lois Sprinkle. Jean was a resident of Flint the majority of her life. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Jean graduated from Beecher High School, “Class of 1971” and attended Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. Her career began at Michigan Bell Telephone Company, then to Citizen’s Bank and retiring from Chrysler in 2008. Mrs. C. Jean Thomas leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Shatoiya Thomas of Chesterfield, MI; son, LaJuan (Christina) Thomas, Sr. of Williamsport, MD; 5 grandchildren, Tierah Thomas and LaJuan A. Thomas, Jr., both of Chambersburg, PA, Chris Moon, Tyrone Thomas and Layla Thomas, all of Williamsport, MD; mother, Lois Sprinkle; 3 sisters, Antonia (Stonnie) Hasan, Deborah Sprinkle and Leatrice Sprinkle; 4 brothers, Elroy (Deborah) Sprinkle of Grand Blanc, MI, LeRoy (Wanda) Sprinkle of Lexington, OH, Dwight (Patricia Nelson) Sprinkle and Corey Sprinkle; aunt, Josephine Addison of Chicago, IL; mother-in-law, Annie Mae Thomas; 3 sisters-in-law, Bobbie Jean Peoples, Genette Sanders and Gerldine Dent; 2 brothers-in-law, George (Delores Powell) Thomas and Phillip Thomas, all of Flint; 16 nieces; 9 nephews; a host of great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Douglas Thomas; father, Clifton Sprinkle; 2 brothers, Calvin and Donald Spinkle; father-in-law, Bobbie Thomas; 3 brothers-in-law, Eddie Peoples, James Sanders and Leroy Dent; grandparents, aunts including special great-aunt, Helen “Sie” Bryant; uncles, cousins and friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. and the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family and the many friends Jean met on her life’s journey.
