WHITE-THOMAS, Mrs. Burnestine - Age 58, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at University of Michigan Hospital- Ann Arbor, MI. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Rev. James Campbell officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Thomas will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. to receive friends. Mrs. Burnestine “Bunnie” White-Thomas was born July 30, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mrs. Jewel K. White and the late Mr. Gentle White, Sr. She graduated from Flint Southwestern High School, “Class of 1975.” Burnestine attended Baker College where she studied Medical Billing and Mott Community College. She retired from General Motors Corporation. Burnestine enjoyed attending Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Kitchen Committee and was a GCCI Member. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering for McLaren-Flint. Mrs. Burnestine “Bunnie” White-Thomas leaves to cherish her memory: husband of over 32 years, James Thomas; 3 step-sons, Terrance D. Richard, James R. (Tina) Thomas, Jr., and special son, Reuben “Tawan” (Monica) Thomas; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; mother, Jewel K. White; sister, Cynthia L. (Luther) Campbell; 2 brothers, Michael L. White and Rickey R. White; 5 sisters-in-law, June Walker, Eunice Milton, Betty Perdue, Theresa Thomas and Deborah Thomas, all of Flint; a host of nieces including special niece like a daughter, Renika R. (MarQues) Ogden-Colston of Madison, AL; a host of nephews; 2 aunts, Faye (Ossie) Bolton, Joellen Upchurch, all of Flint, 2 aunts-in-law, Margie Brady and Roberteen Graves, both California; uncle, Dennis Taylor of Flint; special cousins, John White of Illinois and Debbie Brideges of Louisiana; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Belinda Kemp, Kim Carpenter, both of Flint and Lorette Steward of Detroit, MI. Mrs. White-Thomas was preceded in death by her father, Gentle Whtie, Sr.; grandparents, Dutch and Louise (Early) White, and Samuel and Myrtis (Walker) Taylor; sister, Katherine L. White; brother, Gentle White, Jr.; nephew, Rickey R. White, Jr.,; mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Thomas; father-in-law, Rhuben Thomas; 2 sisters-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law. The family appreciates the many kind expressions of love and concern extended to them during this time of bereavement.
