Mr. Buford Wilson Jr.

WILSON, Mr. Buford Jr. - Age 69, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at Ascension-Genesys Hospital. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, 2430 Dutcher Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Pastor Lonnie Brown, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Wilson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2023. Buford “June” Wilson, Jr was born June 30, 1953 in Memphis, TN the son of Buford Sr. and Darlene Wilson. He was a servant of God who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior at a very young age. He later participated and served in many ministries as a member of Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, under the leadership of Dr. Lonnie W. Brown. After receiving a diploma in Bible and Theology from Faith Tech Bible School, Buford loved sharing the gospel as head deacon and certified correctional chaplain. Even though Buford was born in Memphis, TN, he considered himself a life-long resident of Flint, MI where he attended Flint public schools and was a 1971 Flint Northern High School graduate. It was during his sophomore year at Northern that he met his best friend and eventual brother Benny Bell. While Buford was a very crafty prankster that always had a smile on his face, he took his role as the elder son of the Wilson’s very seriously. He was always the protector who provided guidance and support. Buford devoted himself to growing his bonds with family and friends. Buford provided 30 years of service to General Motors as a UAW Local 659 member before retiring on May 30, 2009. He spent his time with GM at Fisher Body and Flint Metal Fabrication, both in Flint, MI. Buford was also a very skilled craftsman who took extreme pride in his ability to masterfully complete construction and mechanical projects while listening to old school R&B music. He loved working on his house, cars and motorcycles, yet he never turned down an opportunity to help others in need. Buford leaves to cherish precious memories: daughter, Talisha “Tee Baby” Wilson; fur buddy, Max; sisters, Belita Wyatt and Sheila Boyd of Miami, FL; brothers, Keith Wilson Sr. of Flint, MI, Llewellyn (Ernestine) Wilson Sr. of Lansing, MI, Clarence (Chiffon) Wilson Sr. of Flint, MI, and Shawn (Annette) Wilson Sr. of San Antonio, TX, 12 grandchildren, Buford Wilson IV and Brdayha Wilson of Houston, TX, Taniyah Martin of Detroit, MI, Kiya Wilson, Breá Wilson, Breayle Wilson, Chudé Snow, Brutavion Wilson, Dylan Brown, Brewmarri Wilson and Kehlani Lowe all of Flint, MI; 2 bonus grandchildren, Kingston Miller and Macy Miller; 5 great-grandchildren, A’Khi Harris, Jaiden Bell, A’Myah Traylor, Noah Bell and Catalina Wilson; special friend, Tracey, Special Auntie Ola Clemons; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Buford was preceded in death by his son, Buford Wilson III; parents, Buford Wilson Sr. and Darlene Wilson; brother, Stanley Wilson; sister, Cabretta Wilson; grandparents, Joe Wilson, Emma Bland, Harold Lemmons Sr. and Ethel Hill; uncle, Harold Lemmons Jr; aunts, Pearline McKenney, Beatrice Daniels, Erma Johnson and Minnie Bland. The Wilson family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all of our family, extended families, and friends for all of your love and support during this time of bereavement.
