WALKER, Mrs. Brownie - Age 47, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Greater Galilee Baptist Church, 4418 Industrial Ave., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Pastor Latrelle Holmes officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Walker will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Monday. Mrs.Brownie Lavetta Liddell-Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Goliday and Margaret Louise (Williams) Liddell, was born December 18, 1962 in Winona, MS. Brownie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, Class of 1981 and the University of Michigan in 1997 with a B.S. degree in Biology. She was employed with Northridge Academy as a Computer Instructor and was committed to enhancing and improving her students’ computer and math skills. Brownie loved family and friends and had a zest for life. She was her daughters’ biggest fan and supporter; she was an academic and athletic coach, cheerleader and sometimes referee. Brownie was an avid reader and she shared her passion with her daughters, cousins, friends and book club members. She enjoyed travelling, playing cards, dancing and listening to old school and neo soul music. Brownie was affectionately known as “Disco Brown” and was truly the life of the party. Brownie leaves to cherish her precious memory: parents, Margaret (Maxie) Liddell-Brandon; daughters, Brandy Michelle, Brianna Monique, Tia Mio’Vanni and Reddida Oivannia; step daughters, Chandra and Ebonee Walker-Smith; brothers, Goliday (Sherry) Liddell, Jr., Marvin Liddell, and Herbert Liddell; sister/cousin, Robin Shyrelle Williams; aunts, Willie Ruth Williams, Mary Davis, Sarah Clark, Gail Phillips-Williams, Claudette Brandon, Jethene Ross, Terry Anderson, Elizabeth Stigler, Gloria Campbell, and Geraldine Maples; uncles, Reverend Donell (Beverly) Liddell, John (Beth) Williams, Arthur (Linda) Williams, Herbert (Jan) Williams, Larry (Sondra) Williams, Luther and David Williams; nephews, Marvin and Marcus; nieces, Ashley, Jasmin and Brooke; and a host of cousins and friends. She had a special relationship with her goddaughters - Keleyssa Block and Tiekeya Reed-Jones. Special friends near and dear to her heart include Paulette Adams, Arnenia Odum, Manya Triplett, Patricia Reed-Clift, Teresa Lucas, Susan Finley, Sonia Walker and Dr. Kellie Sanders. Brownie was preceded in death by her father, Goliday Liddell, Sr.; brother, Grayland Liddell; grandparents, John and Mary Williams and Dewey and Marie Liddell.
