JOY-BOYD, Mrs. Bridgette "Big Mama" - Age 43, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Howell, MI. Family hour 10AM Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Min. Howard Johnson officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10AM Wednesday. Mrs. Joy-Boyd will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Mrs. Bridgette Joy-Boyd "Big Mama" was born March 4, 1964 in Pontiac, Michigan the daughter of Mary Alice Joy and Lynn Dawson. She departed this life at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Howell, Michigan on September 16, 2007 at the age of 42. The family moved to Flint in 1973 from Pontiac, MI. In 2005 she accepted Christ into her life and became a member of Ebenezer Ministries. Bridgette loved the Lord and leaned and depended on Him for everything. She loved her children and enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was a homemaker who helped any and everyone. Mrs. Bridgette Joy-Boyd leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children, 4 daughters, Alica and Erica Joy, Michelle King, and Alandress Milligan all of Flint; 6 sons, Demetrice (Sakina) King of Jackson, Theatrice and Daryl King of Flint, Calvin Boyd, Christopher Wink and Bertrum Brown all of Flint; fiance' Dallas Norris, Sr.; 17 grand-children; father, Lynn (Lavern) Dawson of Pontiac; 6 sisters, Cherry and Sherry Joy of Flint, Linda, Ronda, Jean and Annette Dawson all of Pontiac, a very close god-sister, Jewel (Howard) Johnson; 5 brothers, Robert Joy of Atlanta, GA, Leonard, Ray, Robert and Larry Dawson all of Pontiac; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends including, Calvin Boyd, Sr., Betty Jean Spencer, Blondie, Joyce Miles, Nicole Lassiter, James Davis and many, many more. Mrs. Bridgette Joy-Boyd was preceded in death by mother, Mary Alice Joy; son, Dallas Norris, Jr.; and grand-daughter, Tamara Lamar. The family would like to express special thanks to Calvin Boyd, Sr., the Johnson Family, Nicole Lassiter, James Davis, Joyce Miles, Jean Reynolds and Ms. Chapman.
