WATSON, Mrs. Brenda Lois - Age 58, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 PM Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Pastor Willie Towner, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Tuesday. Mrs. Watson will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday. Mrs. Brenda Lois (Patrick) Watson - age 58, made her earthly debut on July 26, 1966. This beautiful soul was the third of six children born to Lester J. Sr. and Viola (Jackson) Patrick in Decatur, Mississippi. Brenda was loved by many and she reciprocated that love in many ways, one of which was serving the homeless, she would make up what she called her care packets and hand out to many homeless people on the street. Which included personal necessities, and her most important item, the Daily Bread booklet. Brenda always said they need this word more than anything else that’s in the bag. She worked at Kith Haven Nursing Facility for fifteen plus years with such commitment to her job and the residents that resided there. Brenda worked in the Dietary Department. So many residents there always asked, did Mrs. Brenda prepare this today? Because they knew that she always prepared everything with love. She truly loved to serve and bless others. Also her loved and compassion was most certainly extended to her family, which meant everything to her. Brenda loved her family unconditionally, there was nothing she wouldn’t do her for children and grandchildren. She was born in Decatur, MS, however, she was a Flint Native. Her parents moved to Michigan in 1968 while she was yet a baby. Brenda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She truly loved the Lord, and would share the good news with anyone she came in contact with. Brenda was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Willie C. Towner. She loved dancing and singing Karaoke and frying that good chicken that she learned from her mother. Mrs. Brenda Lois (Patrick) Watson leaves to cherish her memory: 5 children, Anthony L. Watson Jr., Keyanna Watson, Quashawnda Watson, Antonio Watson and Brianna Watson; 7 grandchildren, Demarion Allen, Mateo Dye, Marianna Dye, Adreanna Watson, Casey Snell, Adonnis Bryant, Cassidy Snell and Anthony Watson; 3 sisters, Yvonne (Orrendo ) Embry, all of Flint, Virginia E. Patrick of Lansing, MI and Betty (Andre) Brandon; 2 brothers, David (Sandra) Jackson an Lester J. (Priscilla) Patrick; 3 sisters-in-law, Carrie Watson, Juanita Watson and Rose (Keith) Brown, all of Flint; 2 brothers-in-law, Larry (Theresa) Watson of Charlotte, NC and Joseph Watson of Spartanburg, SC; 3 aunts, Erma J. Thames, Lucille Thames, both of Union, MS and Eva M. (Herman) Rogers of Springhill, MS; 5 uncles, Jessie J. (Mattie) Patrick of Flint, Isaiah (Linda) Patrick of Jackson, MS, Bobby R. Patrick of Decatur, MS, Willie D. (Martha) Patrick and Billy J. (Iris) Patrick, all of Decatur, MS; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Lee Watson Sr.; father, Lester J. Patrick Sr.; mother, Viola (Jackson) Patrick; grandparents, Isaiah Sr. and Vera M. (Towner) Patrick, Isaiah and Sylvia (Garren) Jackson; father and mother-in-law, Harvey L Sr. and Leanna ( Williams) Watson; 3 sisters-in-law, Annie D. Watson, Bertha L. Watson and Sabrina A. Patrick; 3 brothers-in-law, Harvey L. Watson Jr., Andrew Watson and Colliard Watson; 3 uncles, I.V. Patrick, Claudie Patrick and Edmond (Carlos) Patrick; 1st cousins, Antonio Rogers and Vontay Moya; and niece, Elanna A. Patrick. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center ICU staff and doctors, Nurse Erica, Kith Haven Nursing Facility and United Missionary Baptist Church family.
