PATTERSON, Ms. Brenda Lee - Age 74, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at her residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Monday, July 15, 2024 at Vermont Christian Church, 1201 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Rev. Devonte Powell, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Monday. Ms. Patterson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Sunday, July 14, 2024, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Ms. Brenda L. Patterson was born April 25, 1950, in Shreveport Louisiana to Zelma Stewart and Albert Patterson. She resided and started her family in Flint Michigan. She actively attended Beecher High School participating in Cheerleading, swimming and playing the clarinet. She also attended Job Corp with extended studies at Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, California. She graduated Class of “68”! Ms. Patterson was a lifetime member of Vermont Christian Church and worked and retired from General Motors (AC Sparkplug). Among her passions were singing, dancing, cooking and traveling, which she enjoyed doing with family. Behind her angelic smile was her heavenly voice which she freely shared with the world. She obtained a massive album collection that never left her songless. Her song was accompanied by dance which was observed at the McCree Theater. Ms. Brenda Patterson had a style of her own, she was poetry in motion from her red lips to her lotion. Her sense of good taste carried over into the kitchen where her recipes for Lasagna and Tamales have yet to be trump! Ms. Patterson lived, loved and laughed through life’s obstacles and offered kind words, warm hugs and an empathetic ear usually ending with the word “THERE” as only she could say it. Her laugh was therapeutic on many levels and anyone who experienced her humor, talents, traits or got a “to go” plate, will forever cherish the memory. Ms. Brenda Patterson loved from a pure heart. Ms. Brenda Patterson leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Kiesha Patterson of Flint; 4 grandchildren, Dejhaunte Patterson of Atlanta, GA, Allahna Hawkins of Flint, Cameron Patterson of Houston, TX and Nariah Welch of Flint; 2 great-grandchildren, Ali Webster and Makai Patterson; 2 sisters Beverly Reese and Margaret (Patterson) Townsend both of Flint; 4 nieces, Jacqueline Evans of Atlanta, GA, Zelma Crosby of Flint, Casie Matthews of Atlanta, GA and special niece, Sommer “Bummer Bean” Green of Lansing, MI; 2 nephews, John of Flint and Marc Patterson of Beecher, MI; a host other relatives and friends Donna Thames of Atlanta, GA and Denise Thompson of Flint, MI; including special friend, Jacqueline “Black Jack” Calip of Lindale, TX. Ms. Patterson was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Patterson; parents, Zelma Stewart and Albert Patterson; and sister, Cheryl Matthews. The family would like the express special thanks to, Davita Dialysis, Compassus Hospice and nurse, Sara.
