Mrs. Brenda Joyce Holliday (Luckett)

HOLLIDAY (LUCKETT), Mrs. Brenda Joyce - age 69, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Holliday will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Brenda Joyce Holliday was born September 10, 1944 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of O.C. and Mary Luckett. She was a life long resident of Flint who touched many lives. Brenda was a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. She attended Flint Central High School. Brenda was a Homemaker, dedicated wife, devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved being with her family, cooking and bringing everyone together through her cooking and cookouts. Brenda was a woman that never turned anyone away. Mrs. Brenda J. Holliday leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Michael G. Holliday; 3 daughters, Tangie (Gatson) Jacobs, Montre (Ricky) Buggs and Roslyn (Ricky) Williams; 2 sons, Craig Holliday and Jabaree Holliday; son-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Dunn, all of Flint; 2 step-daughters, Donna Hamilton and Micheal (Gary) Prince, all of California; 10 grandchildren, Anthony (Tamara) Dunn, James (Toya) Jenkins, Jennifer Luckett, Andre Washington, Krystal Tucker, Ricky Buggs Jr., Tiffany Holliday, Arasha Dunn, Tatianna Holliday and Tiara Buggs; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie Luckett, Penny (Billy) Bankson, Jill (Raymond) Gist, and Loraine Edwards, Drew Holliday, Gary (Dalawn) Holliday and Gregory Holliday, all of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews including special nieces, Sharina and Shawnt’e Luckett; god-children, Janard Lakes and Holly Hodo; god-mother, Mrs. Melinda (Fischer) Pittman; a host cousins including dear cousin, T.J. Burton; other relatives and friends including special friends, JoAnn Jackson, Barbara Lakes, Linda Allison, Earslene Miller, Tony Pea, Bonnie Miller and Beverly Miller. Mrs. Holliday was preceded in death by her daughter, Michele Ramone Dunn; parents, O.C. and Mary Luckett; sisters, Celest Lewis and Myrtle Stewart; brother, Ronnie Luckett.
