CURETON, Mrs. Brenda Anette - Age 57, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 11:30AM Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 1258 E. Humphrey St., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Rev. Edward Burns officiating, Rev. Dr. Major Stewart, Host Pastor. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:30AM Wednesday. Mrs. Cureton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Mrs. Brenda A. Cureton was born September 7, 1951 in Wynn, Arkansas, the daughter of Edna and Porter Anderson. Brenda was a resident of Flint. She graduated from Beecher High School “Class of 1969”. Brenda was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed at Fisher Body Truck and Bus for over 20 years. Brenda loved to travel, shop and spend time with her family. She also loved to cook and listen to music. Mrs. Brenda A. Cureton leaves to cherish her memory: companion of 12 years, Tommy Boyd of Lansing, MI; daughter, Tashica Renee Cureton; son, Onzie Demar Cureton; guardian of love and goddaughter, Bertina Gill; godson, Cameron Burnes; grandchildren, LaTravon Allen, Demario Hooker, Janese Hall, Destiny and Layla Cureton; father, Porter Anderson; 2 sisters, Linda Grisby of Mt. Morris, MI and Betty Williams of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 2 brothers, Jimmy Speagell of Milwaukee, WI and Jerry Anderson of Mt. Morris, MI; mother-in-law, Sudie Cureton; sister-in-law, Sandra Parks; son-in-law, Jewell Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bethay, Mable Miller and Maxine Murphy. Mrs. Cureton was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Onzie Cureton; mother, Edna Anderson; grandmother, Elnora Jett; nephew, Terry Rushing; father-in-law, Onzie Cureton, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Donald Grisby. The family would like to express special thanks to Rev. Edward Burns, Rev. Dr. Major A.
