Mrs. Brenda Blair

BLAIR, Mrs. Brenda- Age 67, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Kith Haven Skilled Nursing Home. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, September 7, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W, Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. Mrs. Blair will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Brenda Carol Blair was born December 30, 1951 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of William Hagar and Georgia Ann (Brown) Nunley. She was faithful and devoted to her family, church and to God. Brenda was a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church from 1977-2013. She was Secretary for the Church Members and Secretary for the Missionary Society. Brenda sang in the Choir and served as an Usher. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, Mott College and University of Michigan where she received a Master Degree in Sociology. Brenda worked in the downtown Flint Court System. Later in 2016 she often visited House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church until she became very ill and resided in the nursing homes. Brenda Carol Blair leaves to cherish her memory: loving mother, Georgia Ann Nunley; daughter, Tahnisha B. Blair; son, Thomas Brown; grandchildren, Indonezia R. Blair and Polo C. Blair; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel S. Blair and Daneil L. Blair; sister, Linda Lou Prince; 4 brothers, Aaron H. (Tammy) Wooten Sr. of Flint, Joseph K. Wooten of Orlando, FL, Gregory A. Wooten and Melvin O. Nunley Jr. of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special aunt, Doris E. Matthews of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, William Hagar; grandmothers, Ollie Brown Goosby and Lovie Hagar; grandfather, Daniel L. Brown; sister, Crystal Monica Wooten; and step-father, Melvin O. Nunley Sr. The family would like to express special thanks to her primary physician, Dr. Robert Kuffa, McLaren-Flint, Hurley Medical Center, Kith Haven Nursing Facility, Pastor Patrick W. Sanders Sr. and the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church family, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart and the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church family.
