Mr. Bobby Eugene Silk

SILK, Mr. Bobby Eugene - Age 88, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Corewell Health Beaumont, Troy, MI. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, May 17, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM Pastor Victor Adams, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. Mr. Silk will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2025, with family present from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Bobby Eugene Silk was born November 21, 1936, in Fort Arkansas to the parents of Delilah M. Duell and Mr. Thomas Silk. He relocated to Flint, Michigan with his family in 1941, where he attended and graduated from Flint Central High School class of 1954. He also attended Mott Community College. Mr. Silk loved learning new things and reading books. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, bowling and playing golf in addition to gardening and dancing plus listening to good music. He was united in marriage to Jewel Scruggs for 63 years until her death in May of 2022. They were blessed to have two children, Karen R. Silk-Adams and Drake T. Silk. Mr. Silk retired as a Supervisor, from General Motors Corporation, after 40 years of service in 1983 from Buick Motor Company and Chevrolet Truck and Bus, divisions of General Motors Corporation. Mr. Bobby Eugene Silk leaves to cherish his memory: children, Karen R Silk- Adams and Drake T. Silk; brother, Elder James Dennis (Monica) Duell; grandchildren, Victor Brian and Jaquell Adams, April Delilah and Marcus Eubanks, Drake T. Silk Jr. Roniece Silk, Ron'Dre Silk, and Tavoni Silk; 14 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Silk; great-grandchildren, Zion Amor Eubanks and Dequavian E. Silk; parents, Deliah Duell and Thomas Silk; grandparents, Mary Frances and Ulysses Smyers; brothers, Ulus Thomas and Willie Earl Silk; sisters, Laverne Duell and Norma Ruth Cooper; brother-in-law, Lewis Cooper; niece, Dee Andrea Kay Cooper; nephew, Lewis Kent Cooper.
