HENDERSON, Mrs. Bobbie Age-75, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, August 9, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Bishop Christopher Martin, officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Saturday, August 9, 2025. Internment River Rest Cemetery G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mrs. Henderson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mother Bobbie L. (Anderson) Henderson was born July 19, 1950 in West Memphis, Arkansas, the second child of Earvin A. and Nellie J. (Cleveland) Anderson. Bobbie was introduced to Jesus Christ at an early age while sitting at the feet of her maternal great-grandmother, Malinda Ford, who carried her to the Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in West Memphis. After the family relocated to Blytheville, Arkansas, she attended the Progressive Baptist Church with her maternal grandmother, Jennie Strong. She most recently attended the Cathedral of Faith Ministries COGIC under the leadership of Bishop Christopher E. Martin where, until her illness, she faithfully served as leader of the Kitchen Ministry and as a member of the Mothers Board. In 1964, Bobbie and family relocated to Flint, Michigan where she attended Whittier Junior High School and later graduated from Flint Central High School’s class of 1968. Immediately after graduating from high school, at the age of eighteen, Bobbie began employment with the General Motors V-8 Engine Plant as the first woman hired as a line worker. She retired in 1999 after 31 years of service. After Retirement, Bobbie became an avid traveler visiting many places throughout the United States and many countries throughout the world. She loved the many activities and traveling experiences as a member of the “Red Hat Grannys”. She was a very talented and self- created interior decorator and was once mentioned by the Flint Journal as having one of the most beautiful yards in Flint. Her home was always perfectly coordinated and many family and friends sought her decorating advice. Until her health declined, Bobbie loved cooking and catering vents and entertaining family and friends. Her family will always cherish the memories of the Saturday brunches and holiday celebrations held in her home. Mother Bobbie L. (Anderson) Henderson leaves to cherish precious memories her 2 daughters: LaRhonda (Reginald) Stallings-Milton of Flushing and Kimberlee (Jimmy) Taylor of Flint; 6 grandsons, Omoj Henders0n-Sanders, Michael Walker Jr., Jimmy Taylor, Jr., Lawrence Taylor, Ma’Khi Taylor and DeQuan Griffin; 4 granddaughters, Bobrianna (Darryl Jr.) Thompson , Mikah (Jalen) Kemp, Ma’Khila Taylor and Asharia Taylor; 4 great grandchildren, Aubriell Walker, Jakoa Kemp and Ayden and Addysen Hudson; sister, Pauline Jones of Katy, TX; god-son, Corday Hawkins of Flint; 4 sister-cousins, Samella McKenzie of Clewiston, FL, Deborah Adams of Flint, Arneil Mosley of West Memphis, AR and Kathy Cleveland of Grand Blanc, MI; uncle, Bennie (Ira) Cleveland of Winchester, IL; 4 nephews, Antwaine Walker of Flint, Lacey Jones of Katy, TX, Frank E. Anderson of Zackery, LA and Hannibal Anderson of Richmond, TX; 4 nieces, Regina Anderson Garrett of Memphis , TN, Marilyn Anderson of West Memphis, AR, Rene Anderson of Flint and Denise Muldrew of Zackery, LA; son-in-law, Larry Boyd of Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law, Sabine Anderson of Rosenberg, TX; former husband and children’s father, Albert (Loretta) Henderson of Birmingham, AL. a host of other relatives and friends. Bobbie was preceded in death by her daughter, Malinda Boyd; parents, Earvin A. and Nellie J. Anderson; ; grandmothers, Jennie Strong, Lucy Jones and Leatrice Cleveland; grandfathers, Grover Cleveland and Paul Anderson; brothers, Roscoe Anderson, Frank Anderson and Grover Watkins, sons-in-law, Micheal Walker and Kevin Stallings; and god-son, Landon Jones. The family wishes to acknowledge the love, concerns and support shown by many during her illness including Cheryl Price-Dickson, Mothers Louise Brazil and Barbara Ferguson, Missionaries Teresa Langston and Kesi Dones, Mother Lafayette Hayes and the “Super Star” Mothers Board and Bishop Christoper E. and First Lady Felicia Martin, Sr. and the Cathedral of Faith Ministries COGIC. We are also very grateful for the kindness and support of her neighbors Kathleen Zerbe, Janet Rhodes and the Squire Hill Drive Community. Bobbie also leaves behind many more dear friends and relatives throughout the country including special cousins Jeanetta Warner and Ruby Ahenkorah and long-time friend Elizabeth Jackson.
