Mr. Billye Wayne Gipson

GIPSON, Mr. Billye Wayne - Age 73, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his residence. Funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2016 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 1258 E. Humphrey Ave. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton. Family and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1:00 PM Friday. Mr. Gipson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Billye Wayne Gipson was born February 13, 1943 in Dubach, Louisiana, the son of John and Lora Gipson. He received his educational training at Dubach High School. Billye moved to Michigan in 1960 and became a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed at General Motors Corporation. Billye’s hobbies were fishing, traveling, cooking and music (mainly blues). Don’t get me wrong he loved God! He also had some interests and characteristics such as being around family and friends, oh how he loved his family. Billye loved going to Berston Field House, playing table games and cracking jokes. He was a man of wisdom that will truly be missed. Mr. Billye Wayne Gipson leaves to cherish his memory: loving and caring wife of 50 years, Dorothy Gipson of Mt. Morris, MI; 17 children, daughters, Bridget (Greg) Summerville, Crystal Gipson, Deloris (Ayodele) Ayanwale, Christina (Saleteo) Sutton, Kelley Gipson; sons, Howard (Dianah) Bolton, Arthur (Latonya) Beauregard, Richard (Miranda) Byrd, Christopher Benton-Gipson, Byron Hampton, Micheal Davis and Myion Jones; 30 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Dewain and Aiden; 5 god-children, Nillie Wright, Regina Knight, Jonnie Etherly, Tanya Strozier, Sesonia Gray, Mia Walker and all of their children; 4 brothers, John Gipson, Jr. of Dubach, LA, Harold Dyer, Doug Hopkins and Frank Anderson; special nieces and great-nieces, Erma Milton-Poindexter, Hedy Snelson, Carrol Byrd, Shirley Blair, Terria Pruitta, Tonia Banks, Lora Palor and Dentrice, Terry Briggs, and Dawn Kelly Stevens; special nephews, Micheal, Danny, Edward, Ray and Bernard Gipson, Stanley and Earl Palmer, and Henry Bingham; 6 sisters-in-law, Balinda Gipson, Beatrice Bass, Lillian Parker, Annie Gordon, Pattie Milton and Verlene Milton; 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Milton and Charlie Milton; a host of other relatives and friends only to mention a few, Ella Harris, Ann Smith, James Beaty, Lola B. Sims, Micheal Smith, Annie Reece, Prudie Kelson, Andrew Carter, Janiva Keels, Erma Tyson, Derrick Mayfield, Feleica Louise and many more. He was loved by everyone in his own special way. Mr. Gipson was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lora Gipson; sisters, Christina Nelson, Earlene Graner, Eva Rowell, Gloria Ramey, Margie Gipson, Annette Gipson; brother, Arthur Gipson.The family would like to express special thanks to nurses, Barb and Daytona Lang, the staff of McLaren-Flint, hospice nurses, Patsy Scales, Mrs. Harette, Barbara and Wendell Gooding, Barbara Wilbanks, Pastor and Mrs. Afolabi and the entire Redeemed Christian Church of God family, and Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church family.
