Mrs. Beverly "Bev" "Cool Breeze" Sims

SIMS, Mrs. Beverly "Bev" "Cool Breeze" - Age 53, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at McLaren-Oakland. Family hour 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12 noon. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Sims will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon- 8 p.m. Monday. Ms. Beverly Sims was born January 28, 1961 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Audrey Ann Sims, Dad John Calvin Jones, Sr. and Father Barry Johnson. Beverly attended Flint Community Schools throughout primary school. As a high school student she attended Flint Northwestern, but graduated from Flint Central High School “Class of 1979”. As a young child Beverly was a member of Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church. As a young adult she attended the Upper Room Missionary Baptist Church Since 1989 she was a faithful member of the illustrious House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church. Beverly was an employee of Genesys Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed traveling, cooking greens, hosting family and friends gatherings, attending funerals, talking, watching the Impact Channel, going to the casino, being with her beloved grandson AJ, shopping at Genesys Gift shop and shopping with her daughters. Ms. Beverly Sims leaves to cherish her memory: her first born daughter, Clarice Leenette Mastin of Grand Blanc, MI, her baby girl and personality twin daughter, Tynee` Audreia Sims of Grand Blanc, MI; 2 grandchildren, Andrew “AJ” Scott, Jr. of Grand Blanc, MI and Andrea Scott of Flint, MI; 8 goddaughters, Tonika Russell of Flint, MI, WaNeshia Goines of Atlanta, GA, Kimberly Turner of Memphis, TN, LaTia Bell of Flint, MI, Jazmine Nicole Handy of Flint, Karizma Alexander of Ft. Ms. Sims proceeded was in death by her mother, Audrey Ann Sims; dad John Calvin Jones, Sr.; father, Barry Johnson; grandmother, Ruth Inez Pleasant; 3 aunts, Villia Mae Jones, Edna Coleman and Shirley Johnson; 2 uncles, James (Jimmy) Sims and Allen Johnson and cousin Will Coleman .
