SMITH, Mrs. Betty Lou - Age 84, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc. Family hour 11:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Saints of God Church, 2200 Forest Hill with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Pastor Alfred L. Harris Sr., officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Smith will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. rs. Betty Lou (Stephens) Smith was born June 14, 1939, in Ensley, Alabama, the daughter of Robert and Rosa Stephens, Sr. She had been a resident of Flint since 1951 and graduated from Flint Northern High School. Betty married Johnnie J. Smith on April 22, 1960. Mrs. Smith retired from AC Delphi with 20+ years of service. She was a member of Saints of God Church under the leadership of Pastor Alfred L. Harris Sr. and former member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board, Mission Department, sang in the choir, and was an active Greeter. Betty was an avid shopper and she enjoyed traveling with her family and various groups while she was in good health. Mrs. Smith was also an active member of the Extraordinary Red Hatters Organization. Mrs. Betty Lou Smith leaves to cherish her memory: 1 daughter: Sylvia Willis of Flint; 1 son: Shun (Latonia) Smith, of Superior Twp.; two granddaughters: Tiffany Sims of Flint, and My'a (Martez) Warren, Jr. of Superior Twp.; two grandsons: Travis Willis of Flint and Shun Smith Il of Superior Twp.; two great-grandsons: Ayden Chestnutt of Flint and Amari Willis-Powell of Grand Blanc; two sisters: Rosetta Logan of Las Vegas, NV and Camilla Smith of Newport News, VA; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews; special friends: Geraldine Motley, Laura McSwain, Irma Pugh, Beatrice Matthews, Elnora Maxwell-Davis, Inez Brown, Lillian Holbrook and Matt Patrick; a goddaughter: Tamara Holbrook and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Betty Lou Smith was preceded in death by husband, Johnnie Smith; daughter, Sheena Smith; parents Robert and Rosa Stephens, Sr.; sisters, Maudine Weems, Bobbie Ray Hairston; brothers, Jimmy Hayes, Robert Jr., Curtis Lewis, and Grover Cleveland Stephens. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Alfred L.
