BROWN, Mrs. Betty J. - Age 66, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at her residence. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, January 16, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Bro.Thomas Love, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home, 10:30 AM Monday. Mrs. Brown will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2023. Betty Jean Brown was born September 20, 1956 in Flint, Michigan. The daughter of Major Elijah Brown and Mae Fannie Brown. She lived in Flint, Michigan. Betty was a member of the Belleaire Woods congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She really enjoyed the field ministry. Over the years she served as a Publisher, Auxiliary Pioneer, and Regular Pioneer. Betty graduated from Flint Northwestern High School. She received an Associate Degree in Social Work from Mott Community College. Betty worked as a Nurse Aide for many years. Betty found joy in cooking as well as watching cooking shows. She often hosted dinners for her family. She also enjoyed listening to music, dancing, decorating, camping, Nascar, and going to see the Tigers baseball team. Betty was kind, funny, and sweet. Betty Jean Brown leaves to cherish her memory:: two daughters and three sons, Jerome Fairley, LaNesha Fairley, Marius Fairley, Shaquanda Fairley, and Stedrick Fairley; seven grandchildren, Khalil, Jaylen, Nigul, Lamont, Antione, Carter, and Jaxon; longtime friend and father of her children, Jerome “Skip” Fairley; four brothers and three sisters, Issac, Samuel (Delores), Willie (Jackie), Eugene, Ruth, Earline, and Yolanda; close friends, Dawana, Barbara, Shelly, Jessica, Lillian, and Tonya; as well as Uncle T.D. of South Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Major; mother, Mae; brother, Major Jr.; and sister, Sylvia. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Peram and the staff of Triumph, Nurse Julie, Nurse Danielle, and Farmon and Irma Childress.
