Mrs. Bessie Ruth Sutton

SUTTON, Mrs. Bessie Ruth - Age 70, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Medilodge-Montrose. Family hour 1:30 PM Friday, September 5, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Friday. Mrs. Sutton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Bessie Sutton was born August 20, 1955, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph Lee Williams and Corene (Russell) Williams. Mrs. Sutton was a resident of Flint Ml where she attended Northwestern High School. Bessie enjoyed dancing, skating, fishing, and being around her family. She absolutely loved any function that had her family present as she liked to be the star of the show with jokes and fun. Bessie had a very infectious personality that had everyone she encountered to be drawn to her; she never met an enemy. She loved the saying that she's just "keeping it real" whether it was good or bad, that was one of the many things that had people drawn to her, and she would also say it feels good to be loved and you must love on people the way they allow you too. She married the love of her life, John W Sutton on December 10, 2001. Mrs. Bessie Sutton leaves to cherish her memory: her children, LaShawnda (Khalifah) Boyd, Curtis and Lula Williams, Stephanie and Todd Sutton; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; brothers, Charlie Williams and George Allen; very special sister, Wanda Lemons; and very dear friends, Waniece Smith and Jim Miller. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Sutton; children, Lorene Williams, Jefferey and Jason Sutton; parents, Joseph and Corene Williams; siblings Joseph, Corene, Florene, and Mattie Williams; a host of nieces and nephews. The family would also like to express special thanks to all our family and friends for their prayers and support during our time of bereavement and a special thanks to the I.C.U Team at Hurley Medical Center for all their care and support.
