JOYNER, Mrs. Bessie Lee - Age 82, passed Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Grand Blanc Rehab Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Joyner will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2-8 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Bessie Lee Joyner was born December 12, 1927 in Whiteville, TN, the daughter of Gloss and Annie McGuire. Bessie moved to Flint in 1955 and worked as a Nurse at Scott’s Nursing Home in Clio, MI and Armanda Nursing Home of Flint. She joined in Holy Matrimony with Richard Joyner in 1955. She loved her family and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Mrs. Joyner leaves to cherish her memory 2 sisters, Grace Woods of St. Louis, MO and Georgia Allen of Whiteville, TN; many nieces, including special nieces, Earlene McGuire, Doretha Shaw, and Sheila McGuire; many nephews, including special nephews, Eugene Baylock and Hugh (Brian) McGuire; special great-niece, Porche McGuire, all of Flint; 2 sisters-in-law, Willie McGuire of Whiteville, TN and Dorothy McGuire of Flint; 3 brothers-in-law, Booker Joyner, Roscoe (Emma) Joyner and Clinton (Joyce) Joyner; a host of other relatives and friends, including special neighbors and friends, Marie Lewis and Matt Taylor of Flint. Mrs. Joyner was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Joyner of Flint; parents, Gloss and Annie McGuire of Flint; 3 brothers, Herbert McGuire of Flint, Charlie McGuire of St. Louis, MO and Samuel McGuire of Whiteville, TN; 5 sisters, Mattie Sue Jones, Flossie Baylock, Mary Anderson, Classie Jones of Whiteville, TN and Maple Parram of Flint; mother and father-in-law, Jeff and Gertrude Joyner of Decatur, IL; 2 sisters-in-law, Catherine Joyner and Marylee Joyner of Decatur, IL; 3 brothers-in-law, Tom Jones, Larzaid Allen and Robert Anderson, all of Whiteville, TN.
