HUDSON, Mrs. Bessie Mae - Age 90, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024 at her residence. Family hour 11:30 AM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Promise Tabernacle, 815 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM. Pastor Fred Flowers, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Hudson will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday, with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mrs. Carolyn Dianne Hudson was born August 30, 1954, in Chicago, IL., to Ann Brown and King Swayzer. Carolyn, a long-time resident of Flint, MI, departed this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV. Carolyn was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where she was a graduate of Lucy Flower Vocational High School. In 1972, she relocated to Flint, MI where she met and married Charles, the love of her life in 1978, with whom she shared over 46 years of love, devotion and commitment with. She worked as an Administrative Associate at Genesys Health System until retiring in 2011 and has faithfully served at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness North Congregation for many years. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking out and playing cards or dominoes, while enjoying the sounds of The Blues. She also enjoyed traveling, crocheting and reading. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend that will be sorely missed and forever loved. Mrs. Carolyn Dianne Hudson leaves to cherish her memory: husband: Charles Hudson; daughters: Trina (Ronald) Packer and Jenell (Bruce) Moore; sons: Charles (Teneal) Hudson and Aaron Jerod Hudson; grandchildren: Trenia Barbee, Trene’ Fulton, Daqualah (Daniel) Gillespie, Daquaisha & Dakirra Simpkins, Charles (CJ) & Tania Hudson, JeKaylah, J’Kari & J’Kyah Moore, Jordyn Patrick and Aaron (AJ) Hudson; sisters: Gwendolyn Jackson, Janet (William) Grant, Elaine (Delton) Hingleton and Sylvia Brown; brother: George (Linda) Penn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother: Ann Brown; brothers: Ernest Penn, William Hamilton and Benjamin Brown; aunt: Gustavia Jenkins The family would like to express a special thank you to everyone for all your love, support and encouragement during our time of bereavement.
