WILLIAMS, Mrs. Bertha Mae - Age 62, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, December 23, 2016 at Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, 2430 Dutcher Rd. Flint Twp., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Apostle Lonnie Brown officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Friday. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed 12:00 PM-8:00 PM Thursday. Mrs. Bertha Mae Williams was born January 24, 1954 in Marks, Mississippi, the daughter of Hubert Sr. and Jessie Wortham. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. Bertha was employed at the Secretary of State and as a Greeter at Sam’s Club. She loved making people laugh. Bertha’s favorite pass time included catching up on old television shows such as: Gunsmoke, ID, Family Feud, to name a few. She also loved talking on the phone. Bertha was very comical and she never saw a face that she wouldn’t discuss (just like her daddy). She would always start her stories off with “Dig” and ending them with “Mamma Jamma.” Mrs. Bertha Mae Williams leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Alonzo Williams; daughter, Gretchen Shenick Grant; 4 step-children, Jason (Mandee) Williams, Joy (James) Eichelberger, Kendrick Williams and Warren Williams; grandson, Jalon Antoine Michael Grant; mother, Jessie (Auburn) Wortham-Bonner; 4 sisters, Frances (Dr. Lonnie W.) Brown, Dorothy (Peter) Chaney, Mary (Thomas) Galloway and Marilyn (Rory) Farris; 3 brothers, Hubert Jr. (Thomasine) Wortham, Benzile Wortham and Madison (Regina) Wortham; 13 nieces, Alexia Brown, Ticheta Wortham, AnQuonise Lewis, Latoi (Brandon) Journey, Lacy (Jerome) Benjamin, Carmen Farris, JaNai Wortham, Torrea and Torrie Wortham, Jessica and Brittany Galloway, Rasheeta Parker and Stacy (Kent) Perkins; 10 nephews, Antoine (Deria) Brown, Yohanes Wortham, Darren (Katie) Simpson, Tracy Simpson, Michael Marsh, Madison Wortham II, Thomas Galloway, Rory K. Farris II, Peter Chaney III and Terrill Chaney; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews; sisters-in-law, Debra (Bruce) Strong, Paulett Williams, Edna Harris and Linda Williams; brothers-in-law, J.D. Stewart, Robert Williams, and Michael (Denise) Williams; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Dot, Valerie Sims and Anita Thomas. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Wortham Sr.; grandparents, Eugine (Hattie Jean) Wright, Parthena Wright, and Cliff (Bertha) Wortham; a host of aunts and uncles.
