BENSON, Mrs. Beatrice Christina - Age 60, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Ascension-Genesys, Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 7:30 AM Saturday, November 20, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 8:00 AM Pastor Patrick Sanders Jr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 7:30 AM Saturday. Mrs. Benson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Beatrice Christina Benson was born December 7, 1960 in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Robert Lee Gordon and Barbara J. (Gordon) Elzer. Beatrice was a resident of Flint, Michigan and attended Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church as a child where she sang in the choir. As an adult she was affiliated with The Dime Missionary Baptist Church and later studied with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Beatrice held a Bachelor Degree in Business and worked as a Supervisor for the Census Bureau and as a Caregiver for most of her life. She continued to care for others outside of work. Beatrice was an avid fisherman, she loved working in the yard, tending to her flowers. She also loved spending time with her family, Jigsaw puzzles, going to garage sales and dabbled in Sudoku as well. Mrs. Beatrice Christina Benson leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Brandie Henderson, Candace Terry and Timetrice Benson; 10 grandchildren, Timothy Benson, Christopher Benson-Terry, Keon Cole Jr. Duryonna Woodall, Christina Terry, Nevaeh Woodall, Cynthia Terry, Dewaine Benson-Coleman, Dmitri Benson-Coleman and Jaxon Thorn; great-grandson, Elijah Marsh; 2 sisters, Jacqueline Strange and Christina (Daryl) Caldwell; 2 brothers, Robert (Karen) Gordon Jr. and Tracy (Tracey) Gordon, all of Flint; 9 nieces; 16 nephews; 2 sisters-in-law, Kim Benson and Barbara Brown; brother-in-law, Gerald Benson; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Mark Fortner and Ms. Paulette Jackson. Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Benson; granddaughter, Clara J. Terry; parents, Robert Lee Gordon and Barbara J. (Gordon) Elzer; grandparents, Beatrice Mathews and Washington Mathews, Theodore R. Gordon and Elizabeth Gordon; aunts, Lillian Wilkerson, Stella Richards, Janie Gordon and Della Brown; uncles, Willie Matthews, Henry Matthews, Washington Mathews, Clarence Mathews, Roosevelt Mathews, Joe Mathews, Alfonso Mathews, Danny Gordon and James Gordon; sisters-in-law, Ann Gibson and Janice Turner; brother-in-law, Joe Brown.
