SMITH, Ms. Barsha - Age 38, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, June 8, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. Ms. Barsha' Smith will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday. June 7, 2024. Barshá Janet Smith “Muffin” was born on July 31, 1985 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Felicia Harris and James Smith Sr.; grandparents, Barsha Colbert and John Harris. Barshá was a resident of Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 2004.” She also received her Associate Degree in Science at Baker College and became a Certified Nurse Assistant where she was employed at Mission Point of Flint. Barshá enjoyed music, dancing and spending time with her family. She had a heart of gold, there was nothing she wouldn't do for anybody. Barshá had a passion for doing hair, drawing art and going to basketball games. Barshá Janet Smith leaves to cherish her memory: partner, Lamonte Person; step-daughter, Jamaeka Broach; brother, James Smith Jr.; 4 sisters, Shannon Smith, Nicole (Alonzo) Walker, Branesha Cummings and Renae Harris; 7 nieces, Latricia and Latora Brown, Laurelá Edwards, Alonna and Arionna Walker, Nemiyah and Kylacie Smith; 4 nephews, Johnny Brown Jr., Marlon and Ayvion Smith, Prince Gomez; uncle, Darryl (Shellanda) Smith; 8 cousins, Dierre Bo Smith, Shayna (Marquel) Smith-Jones, Jade (T’wan) Smith-Holliday, Palina Buckner, Andrice and Darryl Ray, Robin and Nate Mangham; god-sisters, Kendra Hunter, Shontez Watson and SaMia Shields; a host of other relatives and friends including best friends, Zachery and Sharonda; special friends, Gina, Sarah, Shantel P. and Mary. Barshá was preceded in death by her mother, Felicia Harris; father, James Smith Sr.; grandmother, Barsha Colbert; grandfather, John Harris; great-grandmother, Evelyn Evans; step-father, Wayne Harden; cousin, Dierre Bo Smith; god-sister, Anniece Martin; a host of other relatives and friends.
