McCASTER, Mrs. Barbara Lynn-(Hervey) "Bobcat" - Age 52 left for a better place Saturday, March 5, 2005 at her residence in her sleep resting peacefully. Memorial service 6pm-7PM Friday, March 11, 2005 at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with family hour 11AM Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Evergreen Baptist Church 106 E. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 12 noon. Dr. W.A. Cox officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Saturday. Mrs. Barbara Lynn McCaster will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 2pm-8PM Friday. Mrs. Barbara Lynn McCaster was born August 7, 1952 in Greenwood, Mississippi, fourteenth child of sixteen children born to Will Henry and Matthew (Moore) Hervey. Barbara was a 1970 graduate of Greenwood High School. Barbara Lynn professed a hope in Christ at a very early age, and became a member of Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, MS, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. G.H. Hanking. She also attended college for 2 years at Mississipi Valley State. Relocating to Chicago, IL to continue her education in business at Harold Washington City College. Barbara was employed for many years at Montgomery Ward's, and her interaction, with her employer and co-workers allowed her to be witty, joyful and full of laughter that she shared with everyone. She would also share with them about the God she knew and the God she served. Barbara united in holy matrimony to Jimmy Lee "Gap" McCaster, and to this union there were two children born, Ronnie Hervey and Cynthia Denise McCaster. Upon making Flint her home in the early 1980's, Barbara united with the Evergreen Baptist Church and under the pastorage of Dr. W.A. Cox. She served as a faithful and dutiful member on the Usher Board, helping wherever she was needed. Loving her Pastor and her Church family. Mrs. Barbara Lynn McCaster leaves to cherish her love and memories to her daughter, Cynthia Denise McCaster of Flint, MI; son, Ronnie Hervey of Chicago, IL; 2 grandchildren, 6 sisters, Louise Hervey Shaw of Mt. Morris, MI, Ella Love, Judye Hervey both of Flint, MI, Lucille Hampton, Lois R. Robinson of Maywood, IL, Mary Emma Hervey; 4 brothers, James O. Moore of Greenwood, MS, Gaston D. Hervey of Jackson, MS, Richard Hervey of Hattiesburg, MS and Steve Hervey of Flint, MI. Mrs. McCaster was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee "GAP" McCaster; parents, Will H. and Matthew Hervey; sister, Cynthia Ree Hervey; 3 brothers, Harrison Hervey, Ben Hervey and Lugene Hervey; grandparents, Gaston and Jean Moore and Richard Dosier Hervey many uncles and aunts.
