Ms. Barbara Sue Gray

Gray, Ms. Barbara Sue - age 68, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at her residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Marvin Pierce officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Tuesday. There will be no public viewing. Dr. Barbara Sue Gray was born February 21, 1946 in Bernice, Louisiana, to the late King David and Carrie Buffett Montgomery. Barbara accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age where she was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church in Bernice, LA. She continual her Christian life in Flint, MI at Christ Fellowship Baptist Church. Barbara educational background began after graduating from Westside High School of Lillie, LA in 1964, then she graduated from Mott Community College in 1976 as a Registered Nurse. She also held a Bachelor Degree, Master and MSW from U of M in Ann Arbor, MI. Barbara continual her studies at Walden University with a PHD in Psychology and recieviece a Theology Degree from Rhema Bible College in 1992, plus she had a degree in Photography in 1986 from Flint, MI. Barbara worked as a Registered Nurse at Hurley Medical Center, Genesee Memorial Hospital of Flint, also worked as a Public Health Nurse at Genesee City Public Health Department for many years. In 1992 until her passing she had a private practice Counselor of Psychology “Jubilee Life Skill” in Flint. Barbara organizations consist of National & Michigan Nurses Association, National & Michigan Psychological Association and Eastern Star of Flint. Dr. Barbara Gray leaves to cherish her memory: son, JoMeehee T.M. Gray; grandson, Corey M. Gray, both of Flint; step-grandson, Marcus Jones of Grand Blanc, MI; 2 granddaughters, Shanequa and Tamia Gray; great-granddaughter, Emerie Gray, all of Flint; 2 sisters, Aundrunn K. Montgomery (Russell Franklin) of Saginaw, MI and Myrtle Lee (Dave Robert) Page of Farmerville, LA; 3 brothers, James Monroe Montgomery of Bernice, LA, Troy James (Elsie) of Chinno Hills, CA and Jesse Wayne (Mary) Montgomery of Los Angeles, CA; 2 goddaughters, Alexia Taylor and Shawn Lee Delaney, both of Flint; special nieces, Cynthia Page Cooper of Saginaw, MI and Yvette Montgomery of Culver City, CA; special nephew, K. Horn of Flint; 2 sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Bank Montgomery of Los Angeles, CA and Ethel Jean (Charles) Montgomery of Carson City, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including her beloved pets Butch “dog” and Strippie “cat”. Dr. Gray was preceded in death by her son, DeVellon Moshe Gray; parents, King David and Carrie Buffett Montgomery; 2 sisters, Annie Mae Montgomery Smith and Cora Jones Montgomery; 4 brothers, Lauelle, Charlie Lewis, King David Jr. and Paul Howard Montgomery; former husband, Joe Harrison Gray.
