BUTLER, Mrs. Barbara Jean - Age 63, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 PM Friday, February 18, 2022 from the chapel of Lawrence E. Moo Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Pastor Brian Willingham, officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Friday. Mrs. Butler will lie in state in the Chapel if Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday.Mrs. Barbara Jean Butler was born November 22, 1958 in Albion, Michigan, the daughter of Cecil James Williams and Annie Ruth Newton. Barbara was a resident of Flushing, Michigan. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1976.” Barbara began her career at AC Spark Plug, a division of General Motors Corporation in 1977. She worked 25 years, retiring from Delphi in 2002. Barbara aka “Bebop” or “BB” enjoyed shopping, dancing, spending time with family, and telling jokes. She also enjoyed reading, especially her Bible and writing. Mrs. Barbara Jean Butler leaves to cherish her memory: fiancé, Warren Taylor of Flushing, MI; daughter, Sade (Phillip) Blanks of Euless, TX; son, Jermaine Embry of Albuquerque, NM; daughters-in-love, Sharronda Taylor of Charlotte, NC and Knekisha Bunch of Flint; grandchildren, Talesha Hicks of Atlanta, GA, Mariah Pearson, LaNell Fordham, both of North Carolina, Coriah Pounds and Lee Parks, both of Flint; 2 sisters, Charlene Stallworth of Louisville, KY and Angel (Tony) Newton-Potter of Albion, MI; 2 brothers, Wayne (Angela) Newton and Elgie Newton; aunts, Elzie Garner of Houston, TX, Pauline Fredrick and Isabel Black of Atlanta, TX; a host of uncles including special uncle, David (Thyra) Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins including special cousins, Beatrice Wilson of Inkster, MI and Latanya D. Williams of Auburn Hills, MI; sisters-in-law, Debby Taylor, Monica Taylor, Sondra Taylor of Flint and Victoria Taylor of Mesquite, TX; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Andrea Hollins, Jitters, both of Flint, Brenda Blackmon of Hawaii, Gale Stewart of Katy, TX, Kathleen of Flushing, MI and Anita Jones of Flint, MI. Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil James Williams and Annie Ruth Newton; Katherine Williams; brother, Robert Earl Embry; sister, Marilyn and husband, Leo Butler Jr..
