BOONE-ANTHONY, Mrs. Audrey F. (AB) - Age 47, departed this life on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Genesys Hospice in Goodrich, MI. Family hour 7PM-8PM Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Funeral Service 12Noon Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Vernon Chapel AME Church, 5802 Dupont St., Rev. Roosevelt Brown officiating. Pastor Ernest J. Garrison, Host Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12Noon Thursday. Mrs. Boone-Anthony will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-6PM Wednesday with the family hour 7PM-8PM. Audrey was born March 13, 1961 in Flint, MI. She was the first child of Harold and Ruth Boone. Audrey attended Flint Schools and graduated in 1979 from Flint Central High School. Upon graduation she entered Central Michigan University. She took additional classes at Shaw College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science/Sociology from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1984. Audrey relocated to the Detroit area and was employed by The Alzheimer’s Association; Wayne State University as a director of clinical studies; Bridging Communities and Wayne County Catholic Social Service as an outreach coordinator. Audrey’s most prized accomplishment was being a mother to her 13 year old daughter, Naomi Christine. They spent countless hours together talking, shopping, going to movies and doing almost everything together. Audrey and her daughter were members of Baber Memorial A.M.E. Church in Detroit, Michigan where Rev. Larry Simmons was her Pastor. Audrey served as the Young People’s Department Mentor for Girls. Audrey’s memory will live on eternally by her daughter, Naomi Christine; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Ruth Boone; sister, Amye Leavy and her children Ervin Isaiah and Leah Ruth; brother, Richard C. Boone; aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Harriet Gregg and their son Kurtis; uncle, Mr. Charles McClary and his son Che’; other relatives including The McClary and Anthony Extended Families, Baber Memorial A.M.E. Church and Vernon Chapel A.M.E Church Families; several colleagues and friends including special friends, Minou Carey and Family, Bobby Fizer and Family, Gwen Jones and Family, Nadine Roberts and Family, Charles Jackson and Rev. Phoenix Carlton. Audrey was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Freda) Boone; and maternal grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. W.D.C. and Marguerite McClary. The family wishes to thank the 2nd floor oncology nurses and staff of Henry Ford Hospital W. Grand River Campus, Genesys Hospice Team and Genesys Hospice Facility in Goodrich, MI.
