LOFTON, Mr. Arthur - Age 69, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, May 30, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00AM. Dr. Brian Frelix, Pastor, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery. G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:30 AM Friday, May 30, 2025. Mr. Lofton III will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, with family present from 4:00PM-6:00PM. Mr. Arthur B. Lofton III, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025 at his residence, the Berneda Group Home. Arthur was born in Flint, Michigan on May 18, 1956 to Arthur B. Lofton Jr. and Dorothy Jean Horton Lofton. He was the third of four children. Arthur had many challenges in life, but he always recovered and kept pushing on. After each of his hospital stays, we would tease him...a cat has nine lives, you have 15. He always bounced back from his hospital stay. Praise God. Arthur was a resident of Berneda Group Home where he was loved and cared for. He loved his family at Berneda. Arthur’s giving nature and warm spirit brought joy to our family and the group home. His favorite things was a piece of round plastic that was called his “Flicky”. Arthur loved to listen to R&B, Jazz and Religious Music. Mr. Arthur B. Lofton III leaves to cherish his memory: sister, Shirley (Larry) Henderson; 3 nephews, Larry (Maegen) Henderson Jr. of Midland, MI, LaRon (Bonnie) Henderson of Wyoming, MI and Jermain M. Lofton of Midlothian, TX; 4 great-nephews, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hezekiah Henderson, all of Midland, MI and Amari Henderson of Wyoming, MI; aunt, Mrs. Deloris Self of Flint; step-mother, Mrs. Linda Lofton of Columbus, OH; many cousins and friends in Flint, Ohio, California and Mississippi survive; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Ms. Ida Gibson, Mrs. Johnnie Green, Mr.& Mrs. Eddie and Linda Booth, Ms. Veronica Mastin, Ms. Cresia Darcel Davis and McLaren Nurse Joe. Mr. Lofton was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Dorothy Lofton; grandmothers, Lessie Mae McCarty and Jessie Mae Capps; grandfathers, George McCarty and Arthur Lofton; sisters, Joyce M. Lofton and Stephanie D. Lofton. The family would like to express a special thank you to Berneda Home and staff, Karol Robertson, Sarah Brunes, Jeremy, Felecia, D.J., Doris, Debbie, Loretta, Gwen, Harmony Home Care, and Tyler Goodrich.
