Mr. Arthur Lee Brannon Sr.

BRANNON, Mr. Arthur Lee Sr. - Age 81, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, August 15, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Monday. Mr. Brannon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10:00 Am - 6:00 PM Sunday, with the family present from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Arthur Lee was born on April 22, 1935 the only son to Albert and Francis Brannon in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He attended Flint Schools and graduated from Flint Northern High School. He attended Flint Junior College and successfully completed programs for TV -Radio repair and later on tool and die journeyman. He was employed at AC Spark Plug for 37 years, retiring in 1992. He met and married Betty Brown in 1983 and their union resulted in a family of 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Arthur accepted Christ at an early age and was a past member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He frequently attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses with his loving wife Betty. Arthur was an avid sports enthusiast, fisherman, and a volunteer in many civic organizations including the Ballenger Hwy. Neighborhood Association, the now closed Ballenger Hwy. Mini Station, and the Begole-Helber St. Block Club. He also served as mentor and chaperone to a local group of young males. Arthur was fun-loving, humorous, and had a generous, loving spirit with zest for life. He was a devoted family man and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory wife Betty Jean; 5 children Terry, Arthur Jr. (Trena); Lisa (James)Berkery; Eric (Kim); 8 grandchildren Tiffani (Robert) Williams; Alicia (Tranell) Adams; Arthur III (Valerie); Allison; India Lacy; William Smith, Jr; Mary Elizabeth Smith; Erica; 3 great grandchildren Nyla Lynn Hill; Amaia Smith-Guise; Robert Williams IV; 5 sisters-in-law Earlene Williams; Ann Natt, Lillian Olivier; Delois Hennings; Maressie Hines; brother-in-law McHenry Johnson. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends including childhood friend Donald Bell, special friend James Rorie, special cousins Betty Ruth Lipscomb and Willie Houston, special family members Atty. William Smith, Chet Stocker, and Niall Berkery.He was preceeded in death by both parents, daughter Sheri Owens, brothers-in-law Charles Natt and Oscar Olivier, mother-in-law Aressie Tippins, and sister-in-law Lizzie Moore.
