PEA, Mr. Arnold C., Sr. - Age 88, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Saturday, May 24, 2025, at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor DeQuan Ford, officiating, Pastor Jenard Lakes, Eulogist. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:30 AM Saturday. Mr. Pea will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Friday, May 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Mr. Arnold Claude Pea Sr. peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 08, 2025 surrounded by his family. Arnold was born April 12, 1937 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Edward Lawrence Pea and Irene (Ball) Pea. He was member of the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, under the Leadership of Pastor DeQuan Ford. Arnold graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1955” and enlisted into United States Army where he served his country. He was pinned April 12, 2025, for recognition of service by the Local Veterans Affair’s staff member. Arnold later solidified his career at the Grand Blanc Metal Center, also known as the Fisher Body Tank Plant, a division of Geneal Motors Corporation with 34 years of service and was an elected UAW Local #1292 Official; serving his region as a Committeeman. After retiring from General Motors, he worked for Northwestern High School as one of the Lunch Coordinating staff, known by the students as “Pops” for 10 years. Arnold enjoyed playing organized softball, spending countless weekends playing at the Berston Field House Baseball Field, and he loved coaching softball teams as well. Even in his last days, he watched professional baseball teams, especially the Detroit Tiger’s Team and became one of their biggest fans. In this home going celebration, we pay tribute to a man of great faith. Arnold loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of the House of Prayer Missionary’s Usher Board for many years. Arnold Claude Pea, Sr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories. He is survived by his children: April Raalyn Pea, Arnold Claude Pea, Jr., Carmen Yvette (William Sr.) Cooper, Ayala Shalonda Pea, all of Flint, and Antonio Vada Pea of Wyoming, MI; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Voncille (Marshall Sr.) Grear of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special mention to his cousin, Sherwood Pea; a host of other relatives and friends. Arnold was preceded in death by his son, Edward Lawrence Pea; parents, Edward Lawrence Pea and Irene (Ball) Pea; sister, Evelene Scott; brother, Charles Teaberry; 2 nephews, Katarian Antwan Pea and Lamar Black Jr. Mr. Arnold Pea Sr., was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army
