Mrs. Armertine Mabry

MABRY, Mrs. Armertine - Age 81, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Kingdom of Heaven Ministries, 2430 Dutcher Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Apostle Lonnie Brown officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Mabry will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday with family present to receive friends from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. Mrs. Armertine Wilson Mabry was born February 4, 1937 in Minter City, Mississippi, the daughter of Alice and Herbert Wilson. They moved to Caro, IL, Ann Arbor, MI and and later Flint Michigan, where she graduated from Flint Central High School. Her only child and love of her life, Ralph Clifton Wilson was born to her union with Donald Wilson. Armertine was employed all of her adult life with several hospitals including Flint General and McLaren-Flint. She worked at several factories, including Flint Metal Fabricating Plant, and was a member of UAW Local #659, retiring from V-8 Plant, after 30 years of service. She was an avid bowler until last year, participating in many leagues and tournaments. Armertine, affectionately known as “Tina”, loved shopping, and dressing in beautiful clothes. She spent countless hours cooking up huge feasts for her entire family and friends. She cooked for all occasions and for no occasion, simply showing her love through food. Her specialty was cheesecake. Tina had a giving heart and. She loved caring for others, especially her mother, Alice Wilson, 106 years young, who is missing her immensely. Mrs. Armertine Wilson Mabry leaves to cherish loving memories, Son, Ralph (Carolyn) Wilson; granddaughter, LaTia (Kamal) Whitmore; grandsons, Marlon Wilson, both of Atlanta GA and Al (Jessica) Phillips of Lansing, MI; great-grandchildren, Shatoya Brown, Kaidan Wilson, Alayjah and Samiya Phillips, Kamal, Kael and Konner Whitmore, Allante’ and Alannah Phillips and Jasmine Thomas; mother, Alice Wilson; sister, Sherie (Welton) Burrell; brothers, Herbert (Winnie) Wilson of Atlanta GA, Alfred Wilson, Skokie II and DeWayne Wilson, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Mabry was preceded in death by her grandson, Ralph Dion Wilson, October, 2018; sister, Dorothy Williams, October, 2018; father, Herbert Wilson; sisters, Ernestine Clark and Emma McCloud; special niece, Valerie McGhee; and dear friend, Rogean Hennie.
