SWIFT, Mrs. Armeader - Age 73, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1035 E. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 12Noon, Bishop Odis A. Floyd officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Swift will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1-8PM Friday. Mrs. Armeader Swift was born September 10, 1936 in Jonesville, Louisiana to Korsey and Janice Loucrecy (Crockett) Smith. Armeader was baptized at a early age in Jonesville, LA and later became a member of New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church, loving the Lord was her strongest passion. Mrs. Swift was a outstanding mom and best friend to her daughters, she loved being with them; playing cards, cooking and just spending quality family time. Mrs. Swift also enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. She was formerly employed at Grand Blanc Fisher Body. Armeader was also a active member of the Louisiana Picnic Reunions. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Charley C. Swift and together they shared 7 daughters. Sis. Armeader Swift leaves in God’s care: husband of 46 years, Charley C. Swift; 5 daughters, Clara (Fred) Barber, Diane Cureton, Gerlean Leverette, Sherri Swift (Michael) Davis and Selfronette Swift; 2 step-daughters, Vharonda Wiley-Brown and Sharonda Wiley, all of Flint; 19 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Kordia Mae Bowman of Jonesville, LA and Mary Alice Smith-Boykins of Houston, TX; brother, Korsey (Bessie) Smith of Fresno, TX; mother-in-law, Rosie “Madear” Swift; 5 sisters-in-law, Gracie Greene, Ruthie (Alvin) Proctor, all of Jonesville, LA, Nettie Bloodsaw of Baltimore, MD, Wilhamena Smith of Flint and Leola Gene of Monroe, LA; 4 brothers-in-law, Henry Swift of Flint, Johnny (Pam) Swift of Detroit, MI, Joe (Lorraine) Swift of Jonesville, LA and David (Elizabeth) Swift of Los Angeles, CA; a host of very special nieces and nephews including nieces, Gail Bowman of Jonesville, LA and Dallas Fagan of Flint; god-daughters, Debra Sanders, Annette Jackson, Doris Gowder, Barbara Alexander, all of Flint and Patricia Blake of Hinsville, GA; god-granddaughter, Teresa McCoy, of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Liz Jackson-McNair; the Lawndale Street family, Joe and Dwight Friend, Maple Lancaster, Allie Miller and many special friends in her hometown of Jonesville, LA. Sister Swift was preceded in death by her son, Authur James Smith; granddaughter, Yolanda Barber; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Korsey and Loucrecy (Crockett) Smith; sister, Emma Miller; brothers, Billy and Willie Smith, Oscar Thomas and Bradie Gene; and sons-in-law, Danny Leverette, Sr. (2007) and Abraham Cureton (2009). The family would like to express special thanks to the staffs of Hurley ER, Dr. Shumaker, Dr. Osama, Davita Dialysis in the Hallwood Plaza and Cierra Jones.
