PERRY, Mr. Archie Lee, Sr. - Age 58, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Hurley Medical Center. Masonic Service 7-8PM Thursday, October 13, 2005, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Family hour 1PM Friday, October 14, 2005 at Greater Galilee Baptist Church, 4418 Industrial St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 1:30PM. Pastor Latrelle Holmes, Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 1PM Friday. Mr. Archie Lee Perry, Sr. will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Thursday. Mr. Archie Lee Perry, Sr. was born June 11, 1947 in Natchez, Mississippi to the union of the late Joseph and Mary (Jackson) Perry. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at the Greater Mt. Rose Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. I.S. Howard. He graduated from Walter L. Cohen Sr. High School in 1965. Archie, Sr. was a free spirit person that loved to travel. One of his most memorable travel experiences was to Mexico. He moved to Michigan in 1969, where he placed his membership with the St. Paul Baptist Church. Later, he united with the Greater Galilee Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board. He was employed with Chevrolet Metal Fab for 10 years, retiring in 1978. Archie, Sr. held the position of Assistant Secretary of Oman Temple #72 for 12 years. He was Past Master of Eureka Lodge #16 (F&AM), and the Secretary of Saginaw Valley Consistory #71 for many years. Mr. Archie Lee Perry, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoting wife of 26 years, Sandra; 10 children, Shemicka, Sharmari, Archie, Jr. (Keisha), Erika, Shakira, Terry, Sr. (Betty), Efay, L.T. (Betty), Bernard and Patricia, all of Flint; 3 brothers, Willie Green (Verna), Joseph Perry, Jr. (Essie) and Israel Perry. Sr. (Cerena); 2 sisters, Mary Gladys Dickerson (Norris) and Hester P. Johnson (Lloyd); 1 brother-in-law, Michael Ramey; 18 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 godchildren, Antoinette Phoenix and Zykia McDaniels; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Archie L. Perry, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Jackson) Perry; and daughter, Mrs. Leyte Cooper. The family wishes to express special thanks to Grover Dixon, Pastor Latrelle W. Holmes, Sr. and the Greater Galilee Baptist Church family, and Mr. and Mrs. David (Corrine) Anthony.
