BROWN, Ms. Antoinete LaShawn - Age 47, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 12:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2025, at House of Prayer Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:00 PM Saturday, May 17, 2025. Ms. Brown will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Friday. The love of our life, Ms. Antoinette Lashawn Brown was born and raised in Flint, Michigan on September 22, 1977, the daughter of Diane Brown and the late Joe B. Mitchell. She attended Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Northwestern High School with her High School Diploma. She then went on to pursue her major in General Business, receiving her Associate Degree in Applied Science at Mott Community College. Antoinette worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for Riverbend Nursing Center for quite sometime, before starting her career as a Case Worker for the State of Michigan for over 10 plus years. She grew up in Greater Emmanuel Temple Apostolic Church with her Granny Annie, that’s where she got the name Lady, because her granny would always say she walked around acting like a little lady. Ms. Brown was such a blessing to the world she helped any and everyone she came encounter with. Lady was a very outspoken individual, a huge supporter. She loved shopping, listening to music, was family oriented, loved watching her grandkids grow, and of course Bingo.… just wanting to have a good time with the ones she loved. Ms. Antoinette Lashawn Brown leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Octavia Brown; 2 sons, K’emeo Brown and Da’Marion Odom; mother, Diane Brown; grandchildren, Kiaro Brown, Kei’maya Robinson, Kay’Loni Brown and Ka’siah Brown; sister, Deirdre Buggs; brothers, Joeron Brown, Joseph Gray, all of Flint, and Squirm Smith of Chicago, IL; nieces, ShaQuaria and Zariariah Brown; nephews, DeQarius, Damarius Brown and De’sean Gray; aunts, Lorraine Holiday, Jeanette Brown, Darline Brown and Patricia Gray; uncle, Clyde Brown Sr.; cousins, Ebony, Tanesha, Pachiona, Keosha, Laura, Deandre, Larry Jr., John Mitchell, Tiffany Mayers, Andre Holiday, Darlisha Brown, Terill Brown and Donald Williams, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special Friends, Darron Odom, Eva, Evonne, Jackie, La’Shae, Sierra, Ashley and Yonnie; best friend, Stella Betts; god-son, Daniel Nettles. Ms. Brown was preceded in death by her son, ShaVonte McAdory; father, Joe Mitchell; brother, Calvin Brown; grandparents, Cora Mitchell and John Jamerson, Annie and Douglas Brown; aunt; Shirley Mitchell; uncles, Daniel and Robert Mitchell, Jerome Brown; cousins, Tobias Mayers, Clyde Brown Jr., Derrick Mitchell and Quiana Brown.
